TV’s Sophie Rundle gets hands on with her own Gentleman – enjoying a park date with the actor she is set to wed.
Sophie, 31, will be seen locking lips with Suranne Jones on the BBC’s Sunday night drama Gentleman Jack.
But she was spotted enjoying a smooch with fellow actor Matt Stokoe – who starred with her in BBC One’s Bodyguard – as they walked their dog in the sunshine.
The pair have kept their relationship low-key, with Sophie finally letting slip that they were engaged in an interview last week.
She revealed: “We got engaged a couple of weeks ago. The whole wedding thing is weird, though.
“Everyone expects you to be desperate to be a princess for the day… that’s really not my scene.”
The duo have just made a horror flick, Rose, written by Matt, 30.
Gentleman Jack is the story of 19th century Yorkshire landowner Anne Lister, described as the “first modern lesbian”, played by Suranne, 40 – and her love for heiress Ann Walker, who she is set on marrying.
It was recently announced the show has been recommissioned for a second series – after just one episode appearing on screen.
The opening part of the drama aired on BBC One last Sunday night to widespread acclaim from critics and viewers alike.
The episode was the most successful launch for a new BBC drama this year, winning its 9pm slot with an average overnight audience of 5.1 million viewers, and a peak of 5.6 million.
The second series will again use the real life diaries of Anne Lister – part of which were written in code – as its source, with every part of Lister’s story based in historical fact and the five million words she wrote in her journals.
