Grimes makes a rare appearance amid Elon Musk drama – as singer voices her concern over A.I. girlfriends saying ‘women could be obsolete in five years’
Grimes was seen for the first time since Elon Musk confirmed they welcomed their third child, a son named Tau Techno Mechanicus, together.
On Wednesday night, the 35-year-old Canadian singer moderated a live debate on the subject of ‘Has the sexual revolution failed?’ at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles.
Alongside, writer and podcaster, Sarah Haider, argued that the sexual revolution had succeeded.

An attendee at the event claimed that she called for more ‘cinematic porn.’
‘I hope living women still have a chance!’ the musician stated.
As she discussed pornography, Grimes stated that digital life has made porn ‘a lot easier to access it.’
‘I wouldn’t want my kids to see it, I think it harms relationships. But we can be making better porn. Why are the scripts so bad? Why is the music so bad? Why isn’t there beautiful cinematic porn?’ she asked the audience.
She added: ‘There are no classes about how to be a good father or mother in any school that I am aware of. Conversely, I know many people who experience satisfaction from unconventional sex lives.’
‘The sexual revolution is good if we can get to the finish line,’ the Vancouver native.
Grimes went on to state that ‘every job should offer childcare’ and that there are a lot of old people ‘withering away’ that ‘want to be around babies.
After an audience vote, Grimes and Sarah won the debate by 51 percent of the vote after facing off against British journalist, Louise Perry, and Red Scare podcaster, Anna Khachiyan.

This marks her first sighting since Musk revealed that they share an undisclosed third child with Grimes, days after she accused him of preventing her from seeing their children.
In a post on X late Saturday, Musk confirmed the son’s name is Tau Techno Mechanicus, or Tau for short, after a book review in the New York Times first disclosed the child’s existence.
Musk was already known to share two children with the singer: three-year-old son X Æ A-12, who goes by ‘X’, and one-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, known affectionately as ‘Y.’
Tau’s age was not disclosed.
The revelation came soon after Grimes pleaded with Musk, writing ‘let me see my son’ in now-deleted social media post — but it’s unclear now whether she was referring to Tau, or their older son X.
The Greek letter Tau, styled similar to the letter ‘T’, is derived from the Phoenician letter taw, which was written like the modern letter ‘X’, an apparent obsession of Musk’s. He has changed Twitter’s name to X since buying the social media platform last year.

Musk dated Claire Boucher, who goes by her stage name Grimes, for about three years and the couple semi-split in March 2022, though they said at the time they remained on close terms.
The billionaire has had a total of 11 children, including his first-born with ex-wife Justine Wilson, who tragically died in infancy of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Musk welcomed twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis in November 2021, just weeks before Musk and Grimes had their second child via surrogate.

Musk’s complicated personal life has involved three marriages and three divorces, including two of each with the same woman, and seven children from two long-term romances plus the twins with Zilis they conceived via in vitro fertilization.
Elon started dating Grimes in April 2018, and the eccentric couple captured headlines when they made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala the following month.
Amid a series of breakups and reconnections, the pair welcomed their first son ‘X AE A-XII’ in May 2020.
Their second child Exa Dark Sideræl, who goes by Y, was born via surrogate in December 2021.
Musk had his other children with his ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson.

He married Justine Wilson in 2000. Their first son Nevada tragically passed away at 10 weeks in 2002, before the couple welcomed twins Griffin and Xavier in 2004.
Xavier – now 19 – has since transitioned to female. She is called Vivian and has dropped her father’s famous surname – after telling a court that she ‘no longer wishes to be related’ to him ‘in any way.’
Zilis, who was born in Ontario, Canada, met Musk through OpenAI, the artificial-intelligence research-and-deployment nonprofit Musk co-founded in 2015, Insider reported.
In 2015, Zilis was on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the venture-capital category and in 2017, joined Musk’s brain chip company Neuralink as the director of operations and special projects, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Musk and Zilis filed a petition in April last year to change the twins’ names in order to ‘have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name,’ according to the court documents.
The picture of Musk, Zilis and the twins – posted by Musk’s biographer Walter Isaacson – was taken at Zilis’ house in Austin, Texas, according to an excerpt of the biography published in Time.
