Handsome British actor looks unrecognisable as Captain Hook

Handsome actor looks unrecognisable as he transforms into ‘scary’ Captain Hook in FIRST LOOK images from Peter Pan & Wendy – as he insists his new role will ‘give children nightmares’

Jude Law looked completely unrecognisable in a new role which he promised would ‘give children nightmares’ as he transformed into the terrifying Captain Hook.

First look pictures of the British actor, 50, show him sporting long raggedy hair and a full moustache as he donned a weather-worn captain’s uniform.

Jude showcased the character’s iconic hook in the eerie snap as he gears up to play the antagonist in the upcoming Disney film Peter Pan & Wendy.

The father of seven, who recently welcomed his youngest child, said that he was excited by the fact the trailer for the film depicted him as scary.

He said: I think it is important. Part of childhood are the nightmares and the fears that we all have…and Hook, like a lot of the villains in Disney, embodies that.

Paaan! Jude Law looked completely unrecognisable in a new role which he promised would ‘give children nightmares’ as he transformed into the terrifying Captain Hook

Jude told Fox TV: ‘It was something I wanted to bring out of it. I did not want to be the subject of children’s nightmares, but it seemed important to me.

‘You go back to the book and they talk about him being the only pirate that Long John Silver was scared of.

‘But there is beautiful detail to this version where you get to look back and understand a little bit about why he is there and why he behaves the way he does.’

Jude also boasted over his real moustache, adding: ‘I was lucky that just before I played Hook I had a huge beard, so the one thing I knew if I played him it had to have my own tache. I did not want to stick anything on. It would not have been authentic

‘So I luckily had this enormous moustache that I got to wax everyday and I became obsessed with. That became an important part’
