Heinz ketchup designed by singer Ed Sheeran becomes the priciest bottle EVER as it raises a record £1.5k for charity at auction
A limited edition Heinz tomato ketchup designed by Ed Sheeran has become the priciest sauce ever, after it sold at auction for £1,500.
The Sing hitmaker, 28, is a longtime fan of Heinz and even appeared in an advert for the brand earlier this year.
The bottles were based on Ed’s incredible collection of tattoos, and three sold each raised over £1,000 for the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and Rise Against Hunger when they were auctioned at Christie’s in London.

Only 150 of the limited-edition bottles have been created, and they all feature a copy of Ed’s specially-designed inkings.
The first three were sold at auction for £1,050 pounds, £1,100 pounds and £1,500 pounds, with auctioneer Arlene Blankers taking control of the sale
Nigel Dickie, Kraft Heinz director of corporate affairs, said the bottles were made to mark Heinz 150th birthday.
‘What’s special about them is that they have his tattoos on the label,’ he said. ‘They’re part of the label, so it’s his sleeve on our sleeve.’

Going twice…: The bottles sold raised money for the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and Rise Against Hunger when they were auctioned at Christie’s in London.
He said he suspected not many people would open the bottles, but they had ‘perfectly enjoyable ketchup’ inside.
Some 104 bottles will be the prizes in a free global draw, according to a statement linked on Sheeran’s Instagram account, and the remainder would go to Sheeran and Heinz superfans and museums.
It comes after Ed’s incredible rise to music success has been documented by his dad John, in a never-before-seen exhibition.

The Sing hitmakers’ journey to fame from an adorable red-haired toddler to a tattooed heartthrob is shown through the display of snaps and memorabilia set to open in his hometown of Ipswich on Tuesday.
Alongside his beloved guitar, the Suffolk-born singer’s idyllic childhood is displayed through various photographs and sculptures, including one which shows him as an adorable red-haired toddler.
A prized addition also comes in the form of Ed’s puppet replica from the video for his 2014 track Sing.
The exhibition was put together to coincide with Ed’s return to his hometown for the final dates of his Divide tour at Chantry Park.
