Helen Flanagan has opened up about how her romantic birthday plans for her fiancé Scott went awry after she went into labour on his 32nd birthday.
The Coronation Street star, who was two days overdue with her son Charlie, exclusively told OK!: “For Scott's birthday I booked one of those glass domes for the garden and I was having a private chef come.
“I know it was risky doing it that day because I could be overdue, and then I had to text my friend who was organising it to all to say: ‘I have to cancel, I’m in labour!’
“It was so typical. But Scott loved that they were born on the same day.”
Charlie, who is now three months, arrived on March 25, the day of his footballer dad’s 32nd birthday.
Helen woke up at 5am with pains and got into a bath at home before making her way to hospital with Scott, where they welcomed Charlie just before 12pm.
Revealing how Charlie was given his dad's name Scott as his middle name, Helen explained: “Scott said for ages, ‘I really want him to be born on my birthday,’ and I said: ‘If we have a boy and he’s born on your birthday his middle name can be Scott.’
“I didn’t think that was likely to happen and then it did! It was so special and he looks just like his dad. I literally feel like I have a mini Scott with me the whole time.”
Helen and Scott, who plays for Championship side Preston North End, have been together since the actress was 19 years old.
The 30 year old was able to redo her celebrations for her fiancé a few weeks later, with Helen go all out by organising an incredible blue and silver balloon arch in their garden alongside the dining dome.
“Belated birthday for my Scott Thankyou @jandjeventplanning,” wrote Helen.
As well as three month old Charlie, Helen and Scott are also parents to daughters Matilda, six, and Delilah, three.
The girls both recently celebrated their birthdays, with their famous mum once again going all out to ensure their days went off with a bang.
