Hilaria Baldwin suggests 'enemies' have sought to 'destroy' Alec

Hilaria Baldwin raises eyebrows as she claims ‘enemies’ have sought to ‘destroy’ her husband Alec Baldwin and that he’s been the target of ‘dehumanization’… less than a year after actor’s fatal accidental shooting of Halyna Hutchins on Rust set

Hilaria Baldwin claimed that ‘enemies’ of her husband Alec Baldwin have actively sought to ‘destroy’ his reputation in a lengthy post shared to Instagram on Wednesday.

While marveling over the 64-year-old entertainer, the 38-year-old yoga instructor stated that Alec has taken ‘blows and sacrifices’ for being an outspoken celebrity and that they’ve both been the target of ‘dehumanization.’

Hilaria’s defensive post comes less than a year after Alec accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his film Rust last year.

Hilaria opened the post, which included a black-and-white snapshots of herself and Alec cuddling in bed, by expressing how ‘wonderful’ it’s been to be by her famous husband’s side.

The couple have been married since 2012 and have since welcomed six children. Hilaria is currently pregnant with their seventh child.

‘To enter your world and become your person has been both a joy and an eye opening experience. How many wonderful moments, meeting incredible people, doing amazing experiences, and building a family. I am forever grateful. Every day,’ she penned.

The post soon took an unexpected turn as Hilaria spoke about the ‘darker’ side of her life with Alec and how his celebrity status has brought on intense public scrutiny.

‘The darker part is seeing behind the curtain at how some of this ‘business’ can function and the blows and sacrifices that someone in the public eye takes for speaking up for what they believe and for helping others,’ she wrote.

‘Enemies of these missions seek to destroy you, in order to delegitimize your voice and purpose.’

She then alleged that this ‘tactic’ is being used to ‘slander’ Alec and that others are aware of it but have chosen to stay silent out of fear of being ostracized.

‘This is not a new tactic…it’s as old as history…yet, how easy it is now more than ever to slander people and cherry pick and piece together strands taken out of context, ‘opinions’, or complete fabrications. And how some people believe it or stay silent out of fear.

‘Alec, how many times we look at each other and say: deep breath, in this together, keep on for the good of what we believe,’ she wrote directly to her husband of a decade, adding in Spanish that they’re ‘a good team.’

‘How many times I’ve experienced people stopping you and thanking you for your philanthropy in the arts, your work with children, fighting for our environment, and yes, we all know: our politics.

‘People see how hard you fight for what you believe is right. And we are grateful. Listen to these voices..turn down the volume on the darkness and negativity.’

Hilaria wrote about witnessing Alec’s ‘dark moments’ as his wife and how she’s able to empathize with him after previously experiencing public backlash of her own.

‘I am the one that sees you in your dark moments…the human moments—away from the movie stardom and public figure that people are so quick to elevate or execute.

‘My empathy for your humanity is endless… unfortunately, having experienced the dehumanization myself, (another old tactic to go after the spouse of your enemy)…leads us to the moments when we think: how much more can one body and one mind take before we crumple beneath the psychological torture?’

Hilaria came under fire for lying about her Spanish heritage, as well as Spanish being her native tongue, in December 2020 after a viral Twitter post raised questions about the authenticity of her claims.

She had claimed to be born in Mallorca, Spain, only moving to the United States for college, but it was later uncovered that she was born Hilary Thomas and was actually from Boston.

She tried to come clean about all of it in an Instagram video, where she confessed to being a ‘white girl’ from a ‘white family’ who had grown up in the United States.

To close out Wednesday’s open letter to her husband, Hilaria encouraged him to continue using his voice for ‘good’ and reminded him that he’s appreciated by those who love him.

‘I don’t know the ending to any of our stories, but I do know that while we are living, I want you to be told time over time how much we see you and appreciate you. And we know that you are carrying quite a load, using the privileged place of your public voice for good.

‘Not everyone with your privilege chooses this path. And we know it’s hard. So many love you, AB, we are here for you to lean on and feel safe,’ Hilaria concluded.

Alec and Hilaria announced that they’re expecting their seventh child together back in March.

The couple already share: Carmen, eight, Rafael, seven, Leonardo, five, Romeo, four, Eduardo, one, and Lucia, one.

By May, the couple revealed publicly that they’d be welcoming a baby girl.

‘It’s always been both fun and meaningful for me to find out what is the sex of my baby, yet, as I grow and learn, I want to do it a bit differently this time around,’ Hilaria wrote on Instagram at the time.

‘What will make our baby a loving, whole person? What matters? What will make them feel seen, free, and proud?’

She continued: ‘I share with you our family’s hopes and wishes, encouragement and advice for our new baby. I feel so much joy, watching these children, who are filled with love and the most simple, kind wisdom.’

‘Hearing them share their words is one of my greatest gifts in life. Join us in honoring this whole little independent human, growing inside of me.’

Hilaria alluded to the tough times they’ve faced as a family when she announced their baby news, referring to their unborn child as a ‘bright spot in their lives’.

‘After many ups and downs over the past few years, we have an exciting up and a huge surprise: another Baldwinito is coming this fall,’ Hilaria wrote.

Hilaria, who suffered two miscarriages before welcoming her fifth child, Edu, admitted that she didn’t think anymore children were in her future, explaining that the news of her latest pregnancy came as something of a ‘surprise’ for the family.

It is not yet clear if their unborn daughter will follow the family tradition of being given a Spanish name, after Hilaria was accused of faking having Spanish roots in December 2020.

The couple’s ‘surprise’ baby news came just five months after his fatal Rust shooting that left Ukrainian cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead.

Alec was rehearsing a scene for the movie on October 21, 2021, when he pulled his gun from his costume. It fired and shot Hutchins, 42, in the armpit, fatally wounding her.

The gun had fired a live round which had been loaded into what Baldwin thought was an empty gun. Nearly one year later, no one knows how a live bullet made its way into Alec’s gun.

Though he’s yet to be charged with a crime, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza told the TODAY show is ‘not off the hook’ for the deadly incident.

‘I don’t think anybody’s off the hook when it comes to criminal charges. I’ve said this before: I think there was complacency on the set. There was disorganization and a degree of negligence — whether that rises to a criminal level, that will be up to the district attorney,’ he said during the interview.

That same month Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office released footage of Alec being told by cops that he had accidentally killed Hutchins.

The footage was taken inside the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office in New Mexico on October 21, 2021, after Alec’s prop gun fired a live round during a rehearsal for a scene.

He had just finished telling cops that he didn’t pull the trigger, and was therefore stunned when he saw what looked like a live round fire from his weapon and pierce through director Joel Souza’s shoulder before striking Hutchins in the armpit.

‘I have some unfortunate news. She didn’t make it,’ the investigator told him.

He shot back in his seat, saying: ‘No!’ before asking if he can be excused to phone his wife. Alec left the room with his head in his hands. Seconds later, he was photographed in the parking lot of the sheriff’s office, wailing as he spoke to Hilaria.

Soon after the footage was released, Alec’s eldest daughter Ireland Baldwin made appearance on Red Table Talk where she revealed that he is ‘suffering tremendously’ in the wake of Hutchins’ death.

Ireland – who Alec had with ex-wife Kim Basinger – added that she ‘can’t imagine’ how distressing the situation has been for her dad.
