Holly Willoughby shares snaps from the This Morning team’s VERY boozy Christmas lunch before Phillip Schofield drunkenly tucks into cheese after hours of partying

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will be nursing sore sore heads on Thursday’s episode of This Morning, after a very boozy work Christmas party.

The This Morning team toasted the festive season with a lavish lunch on Wednesday, which carried on way into the evening.

Presenters Holly and Phil, along with their celeb team including Love Island star Maura Higgins and Rochelle Humes, all shared updates of the fun day on their social media, with Snapchat fan Phil leaving fans in hysterics as he tucked into a cheese feast when he finally arrived home.

The team celebrated in a private dining room in London, tucking into a lavish lunch, while the wine was flowing.

Holly shared a group snap of the huge team, with the show’s regular contributors like Nik and Eva Speakman, chef Phil Vickery and Dr Zoe Williams also enjoying the festivities.

A tipsy Holly gushed in the caption: ‘@thismorning family Christmas… my goodness me I adore you gorgeous bunch…’

Feeling it: The star eventually made his way home, and looked tired and emotional as he told his Snapchat followers: ‘That was a very very heavy This Morning Christmas party’

Phil meanwhile delivered a rousing speech, thanking his telly ‘family’, saying: ‘I’m just going to say we have never been in better shape. We have never had a better family. We have never been closer. We have never worked under a better captain ever.’ 

In an Instagram video shared by Maura, Holly could be heard complimenting Phil saying: ‘You say everything better than any of us.’ 

Rochelle shared a snap of the table settings, with each guest given a place setting from Hotel chocolat with their name on it as well as crackers filled with confetti and bottles of wine.

Starry bash: Trinny Woodall meanwhile gave her daughter a treat as she filmed Love Island star Kem Cetinay sending her a message

Trinny Woodall meanwhile gave her daughter a treat as she filmed Love Island star Kem Cetinay sending her a message, after revealing her teenager had sent star-struck texts about her lunch companion. 

The party later moved on from the private dining room to another venue with a tipsy Phil seen leading a breakout group down a London street, trying to find the next venue.

The This Morning star eventually made his way home, and looked tired and emotional as he told his Snapchat followers: 

‘That was a very very heavy This Morning Christmas party.’ As he tucked into a block of cheese and pulled faces, he added: ‘I make no apologies for my condition. I would like to now have cheese. It’s very good. I’m almost happy.’

The party went with a swing but some famous faces were missing from the family picture including Gino D’Acampo, Ruth Langsford, Alison Hammond, who was in LA, Eamonn Holmes who had a party the night before to celebrate his 60th birthday, Dr Ranj, Rylan and Vanessa Feltz. 

Love Island star Kem later said of the bash: ‘Yes we were missing a few favourites today. It’s my first Christmas with the This Morning family. I can’t believe how quickly this year has flown by.’

‘I’ve learnt so much and am very grateful to be welcomed into this amazing team. I never imagined I would be doing this a few years ago and am very excited for what 2020 brings.’
