What a snow-off! Holly Willoughby sports £4,000 of top-grade cold weather gear… in just one episode of her new reality show

Her latest project features celebrities taking on challenges in the icy mountains of Italy.

But there was no spending freeze for presenter Holly Willoughby, 41, who was shown in outfits costing a cool £4,337 during the first episode of BBC1’s Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof.

She began in a £950 Cordova purple Up & Down ski suit and £190 pair of faux-fur snow boots by Moon Boot topped with a matching beanie hat from Barts Amsterdam, believed to cost £33.

The total value of her outfits during the first episode is thought to be more than £4,000. Here she is wearing a red Goldbergh Hida Jacket costing £718

Later she donned a £718 padded red jacket with a faux fur hood by Goldbergh.

Then in teaser clips for the series, which continues tonight, the mother-of-three sported two £670 Perfect Moment ski suits and a £489 pale pink jacket by Goldbergh. 

Miss Willoughby was also pictured in a metallic red Perfect Moment puffer coat costing £617.

She said: ‘It was freezing. Some days, it was minus 5 or 6. I had heat packs in every layer of my ski suit possible.’

Her outfits for the series featuring Dutch extreme athlete Wim Hof and co-hosted by comedian Lee Mack are a world away from the glamorous gowns she wears on ITV’s Dancing on Ice.  

She wore Sophie Couture’s new season gold couture gown for the grand finale last month.

This series she also wore dresses by British designers Suzanne Neville and Sassi Holford and New Zealand designer Emilia Wickstead.

Freeze the Fear follows a group of celebrities who embark on a series of daunting challenges in the Italian mountains in sub-zero conditions.

Sports presenter Gabby Logan, former Manchester United footballer Patrice Evra, singer Alfie Boe, Strictly professional Dianne Buswell, weather presenter Owain Wyn Evans, rapper Professor Green, singer and footballer Chelcee Grimes and actress Tamzin Outhwaite are among the famous faces taking part.

The first episode saw the celebrities take it in turn to jump into water in a frozen lake and scale a cliff face head first.
