This Morning favourite Holly Willoughby, 39, has revealed she couldn’t help being overcome with emotion after witnessing her dad’s “dreams come true”. The presenter, who is currently on holiday from the ITV show, opened up about the heartwarming moment in view of her 6.8 million Instagram followers this evening.

She shared a video of her dad flying in a Spitfire while grinning from ear to ear followed by a snap of him posing in front of the plane.

Holly explained to fans the amazing experience was on her dad’s “bucket list” and that she was left “in bits” after seeing the clip of his time in the aircraft.

She captioned her post: “Well, I just received this footage from @boultbeeacademy of the moment my Dad ticked the big one off his bucket list and flew in a Spitfire…

“I think you can tell from his face that magic happened up there in the sky in that beautiful machine…”

Holly then took the opportunity to thank Spitfire training school Boultbee Flight Academy for helping her dad’s wish to come true.

She added alongside crying face emojis: “Thank you @boultbeeacademy for making it so special and making dreams come true… I’m in bits here watching this.”

The star is said to have been planning to fly home with her family at the end of this month.

However, due to the UK government’s Covid-19 restrictions, all passengers returning from Portugal will have to self-isolate for 14 days.

Holly is therefore believed to have flown home a fortnight early so she can be back at work on September 7.

The ITV presenter will then quarantine at her London home with spouse Dan, 45, and little ones: Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and five-year-old Chester.

A source told MailOnline: “Holly accepts that she has to go into quarantine and will follow the rules…

“The summer break is her chance to re-charge after a hectic period and to spend time with her family.”

The insider went on: “After all the stresses of the pandemic she had been looking forward to relaxing as long as possible.

“Instead of seven weeks away she has had to make it five – but it’s what she’s had to do to keep the This Morning team safe and to ensure she returns to the show on time.”
