Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas ‘forced to close his acting school with debts of £92,000 following business difficulties’
Jamie Lomas has reportedly shut his acting school with debts of £92,000.
According to business filings first seen by The Sun, two of the Hollyoaks star’s companies went bust in January.
His company Jamie Lomas Associates was set up in 2016 for ‘motion picture, television and other theatrical casting activities’ while First Take School of Acting was founded in 2018.

First Take Acting owes debts of £73,449 while Jamie Lomas Associates owes £18,945, with neither firm having assets to pay off the debts.
The closures come as the acting and theatre industries have struggled with closures over the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Jamie Lomas Associates owes £1,147 to HMRC and £14,986 to NatWest while First Take owes £35,319 to HMRC and £38,128 to Nat West.
The actor, 46, who is best known for playing Warren Fox on Hollyoaks, also owes staff members £2,810 under ’employee notice’.

Both of Jamie’s firms were on the furlough scheme with paperwork from HMRC reporting that First Take Acting claimed as much as £90,000.
Claims in the £0-10,000 range were made for the business in December 2020, January, February, March, April June, July, August, and September.
Jamie Lomas Associates claimed as much as £70,000 with claims reported in the £0-10,000 range for December 2020, Janaury, April, June, July, August, and September.
On August 31 2019, the company held £1,373 and was £23,335 in debt by February 2020.

Jamie also has a third business called Jamie Lomas 21 which is still going strong.
Set up in 2017, it made two claims of furlough in December 2020 and January 2021 and held £90,708 in October 2020.
A representative for Jamie Lomas declined to comment.
Jamie, who has starred on Hollyoaks from 2006 to 2011 before rejoining the cast in 2016, is also known for playing Jake Stone on EastEnders.
