Honey Boo Boo tearfully confronts Mama June about her drug use during first reunion in over a year
Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson broke down in tears while confronting her mother Mama June about the impact of her drug use in a teaser for Friday night’s episode of Mama June: Road To Redemption.
The young reality star, 15, was overwhelmed with emotions as she and sister Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon, 21, sat down to speak to their mom for the first time in over a year.
‘It’s just hard because you wasn’t there for my first day of high school and I think that’s a pretty big thing,’ Alana confessed, crying.

‘It was hard for me not having my mom there and I had to come home and tell Pumpkin what I was doing,’ the former pageant star said.
‘I’m very grateful that Pumpkin was there for me, but why wasn’t you there? Why wasn’t you there when I needed you most?’
June – whose 2019 arrest for drug possession led to a subsequent rehab stay – was ready to admit her mistakes, saying she was ‘sick’ and ‘couldn’t take care’ of herself.
Alana got upset, asking her mom how she’d feel if ‘the most important person’ in her life was absent through ‘the important parts, the sad parts, [or] whatever there is.’

‘I know I was selfish when I went to rehab and to be honest with you, I’m still a little bit selfish in my recovery,’ the WE tv reality star said.
‘But I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get you all back in my life and that’s the reason why I’m here today.
Dr. Ish then urged Honey Boo Boo to open up more, letting the teen admit: ‘You don’t know how many nights I cried myself to sleep just hoping and praying that you didn’t overdose.’

In addition to the emotional reunion, the episode will see June’s boyfriend Geno Doak do something completely unexpected and Mama June will be confronted with a surprise drug test.
A new episode of Mama June: Road To Redemption airs Friday night at 9pm on WE tv.
