I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! kicked off with a brand new series on Sunday and Josie Gibson wasted no time cracking jokes at fellow campmate Nigel Farage’s expense.
The This Morning star, 38, found herself miles from the Aussie jungle as she was dropped into the scorching outback for the first challenge alongside the controversial polictian, 59.
With Josie admitting ‘I thought this was a good idea until they dropped us off in the middle of nowhere. I’ve never been so petrified.’
Nigel replied: ‘It’s something different in life, it’s an adventure! It’s a challenge, it’s not going to be easy, but why not?’.
While Josie quipped: ‘It can’t be worse than Brexit!’
Drama down under: I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! kicked off with a brand new series on Sunday and Josie Gibson, 38, wasted no time cracking jokes at fellow campmate Nigel Farage’s expense
Tension ahead? The This Morning star found herself miles from the Aussie jungle and was dropped into the scorching outback for the first challenge alongside the controversial polictian, 59.
Laughing Nigel said: ‘Oh… didn’t take long did it? Didn’t take long. I had a feeling we’d get a bit of that!’
However Josie was quick to assure him that she was ‘only joking’.
The Former UKIP and Brexit party leader is believed to be earning a bumper £1.5million for his appearance on the ITV series.
The signing of the GB News star has proved controversial as he is a famously divisive figure, who is known for his right-wing views on immigration and gender pay gaps.
Some fans are less than happy with Farage taking part with nearly many threatening to boycott the series.
Taking to X, social media users plead their case as to why they were taking action against the show.
One user wrote: ‘ITV notoriously choose the most heinous politicians. They secure these guests by promising to show ‘another side’ to them.
‘There are no other sides to sc**bags like Matt Hancock & Nigel Farage & attempts to rehabilitate them for the nation is propaganda. #BoycottImACeleb’.
Jokester: With Josie admitting ‘I thought this was a good idea until they dropped us off in the middle of nowhere. I’ve never been so petrified.’
Speaking he mind: Before adding: ‘It can’t be worse than Brexit!’ (Nigel and Josie pictured with fellow campmate Nella Rose)
Fuming: Former UKIP and Brexit party leader Nigel is believed to be earning a bumper £1.5million for his appearance on the ITV series – with some fans declaring they will boycott the series as a result (pictured in 2021)
‘Hancock was bad enough but I can’t even look at Farage. Do itv realise how many viewers they will lose with this decision? #BoycottImACeleb’, a second wrote.
A third user added: @ITV @antanddec @DecsMcpartlin I boycotted @imacelebrity when you put @MattHancock on your show. Now the odious @Nigel_Farage.
‘I’m livid that you give these people a voice, a platform and way to be seen. I can’t, I’m livid spitting feathers. #BoycottITV #Boycottimaceleb’.
In an I’m A Celeb first, three celebrities were dropped into the scorching Australian Outback to complete a series of challenges.
The aim was to earn time for the other batch of celebrities to win their challenges, which would in turn earn them all meals for the camp.
Nigel and Nella had to poke their heads through ‘hell holes’ filled with snakes to retrieve tokens, using their tongues to move them along a metal wire.
‘We just do it and we can move on to the next challenge,’ said a steely Farage.
While Nella failed to get any of the tokens, Nigel got all three of his, as did Josie who had to submerge her head in a barrel.
But Nigel, who is exempt from some trials due to injuries he sustained during a 2010 plane crash, had more to overcome before he could even enter the camp.
Nigel and Nella had to then sit in the back of a burnt out truck, filled with gunge and creepy crawlies, while searching for tokens tied onto a rope.
Nella managed to get all three of her tokens while Nigel and Josie got two each, earning seven minutes for their fellow celebrities to complete their trials.
In total this earned their fellow campmates seven minutes for The Temple of Doom.
Grim: Later in the show Nigel found himself covered in gunge for his first Bushtucker trial
Gross: Donning goggles he joined Josie and influencer Nella Rose as two people were required to put their heads in hell holes and one to dunk their head into barrels to find tokens
Team effort: Josie opted for the barrels saying: ‘I’ll take one for the team, I’ll take the barrels. I don’t mind sticking my head in things that don’t belong…’
Mixed bag: Terrified of snakes Nella failed to bag any stars but Nigel and Josie both earned three each for camp
Elsewhere viewers were left horrified after seeing former EastEnders star Danielle Harold left ‘trembling’ by the show’s first Bushtucker challenge on Sunday.
The actress, 31, joined fellow campmates Sam Thompson, Grace Dent and Fred Sirieix as they were dangled from a sky scraper 100M in the air.
Danielle was terrified by the heights and fans spotted her trembling as she was forced to climb out over the edge of the building.
Despite her fears the soap star overcame her anxiety and alongside her team mades bagged four stars for camp.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer said: ‘Don’t worry Danielle I’d be shaking too if I had to do that challenge’.
A second said: ‘These first challenges would make me reconsider everything look at the way Danielle is shaking?!’.
While a third wrote: ‘Fred and Danielle did amazing, I reckon they’ll be great at the challenges’.

Meanwhile Jamie Lynn Spears, Marvin Humes and Nick Pickard learned they would have to face a skydive before heading off to do the very first Trial of the series.
Nick confessed: ‘I had no idea when I woke up this morning I’d be skydiving with Britney Spears’s sister. I mean, come on… I don’t think she’s looking forward to it too much. I think she’s a bit apprehensive, as is Marvin.’
Marvin added: ‘100% skydiving is the worst thing you could throw at me. I’ll be thinking about my children and my wife the whole time…. Fingers crossed it’s all going to be alright.’
Jamie Lynn quipped: ‘What’s the worst that could happen? Just kidding, a lot of really bad things could happen…’
Marvin admitted: ‘I am going to be terrified, petrified… all of the ‘ifieds.’
But despite their nerves, there was jubilation once they’d each done it.
Jamie Lynn, who jumped first, was thrilled as she said: ‘I was living out my childhood dreams of being a fairy and flying around – honestly, it was so cool!’
Arriving back on the ground, Nick kissed the floor: ‘Hell mate, mwah!’
Thrilled he managed to jump, Marvin said: ‘Un-bloody-believable mate. That makes you feel alive. I was scared about nothing. Wow. I can’t believe it, we’ve done it. I never wanted to do it and I’ve done it. To conquer that fear of heights! I think my kids will be super proud.’
After taking on the skydive, the trio thrust straight into the very first trial of the series.
Called Temple of Doom, the trials sees them strapped into boxes and covered in horror critters.

Adding: ‘Of course he won’t be presenting that show over the next three weeks, so we’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to all of GB News viewers.’
With Ant quipping: ‘Sorry Keith, Sorry Linda’ in reference to the broadcasters apparent disappointing audience numbers.
Fans were left in hysterics with one writing on X, formerly known Twitter:
