Tara Reid says she has cut her “Sharknado 6” press tour short because of a bad back.
A day after a bizarre interview with an Australian TV show went viral, the actress tweeted she was bowing out of the remainder of her press obligations for the franchise’s final movie because of health issues.
“Due to some back issues I am having, I had to cut my press tour short,” she tweeted Friday. “I wish I could’ve been there especially for my favorite show, @BUILDseriesNYC. Thank you for ur understanding & I am hoping to recover from this pain soon. Tune in Sunday as @SharknadoSYFY 6 premieres on @syfy.”
Although she started off the week strong, Reid appeared to struggle through the aforementioned interview with Channel Nine’s “Today Extra” in Sydney on Thursday and another Friday morning with Fox 5 New York.
As she mentioned in her tweet, Reid was scheduled to sit down for a Build Series talk alongside “Sharknado” co-star Ian Ziering on Friday morning but was a no-show. But she did post a video on her Instagram story of her riding in a golf cart around JFK Airport.
“Hi guys, it’s Tara. I’m so excited. We just left New York. We did all the press for ‘Sharknado.’ It was awesome. And now we’re in a golf cart ready to leave – back to LA,” she said, before urging fans to watch the movie and buy her new perfume on her website.
“Sharknado 6: It’s About Time” will premiere on Syfy Sunday at 8 p.m.
