Former Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson took to her Instagram this week to share a taster video of her debut solo material she is set to release next month and sources say it “could anger Little Mix”.

An insider told The Sun that the new release from Jesy could cause conflict with her ex-bandmates.

“Things have got progressively more strained, but seeing her return with a song and an image that could have been taken straight from the Little Mix playbook is going to be very divisive," they said.

The source continued: “The girls always vowed to stay friends after all they had been through, but now most of their communication happens through intermediaries including lawyers and managers, which is a real shame.”

The source continued: “Jesy’s new video shoot could have been a Little Mix single, it’s packed with choreography and the style is very similar too.

“Her new label wanted to strike while the iron is hot, but the other girls are just going to wonder why on earth she had to quit the band if she was going to come back a matter of months later with a style that looks almost identical.

“And she actually recorded the music months ago, so it feels like putting two fingers up at them.”

Jesy, 30, shared the teaser video with her 8.2 million followers and commented on it: “For me, this is the music I’ve always wanted to make.

"I don’t think that anyone is going to expect this. This is the new chapter for me.

“If you genuinely believe something enough and you want it to happen, you can make it happen.”

The accompanying video, which was overlapped with the first glimpse of her new solo music, showed several montages of the star from glamorous photoshoots, behind-the-scenes footage and dance rehearsals.

Jesy announced she was quitting Little Mix in December last year saying being in the band.

She addressed her fans on her Instagram and revealed that being in the band has “really taken a toll on my mental health” in the candid statement.

She said: “Making friends and fans all over the world I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

“You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never ever forget it.”

Jesy’s bandmatesPerrie Edwards,28,Leigh-Anne Pinnock29, andJade Thirlwall , 28 came out in support of her decision at the time saying: “After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.

“We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being. We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.”
