Joey Essex’s home has reportedly been ransacked by thieves while the reality star was out with friends.
According to reports, the former Towie star, 31, was out with friends when burglars targeted his £3million home in Essex, arriving home to find an upstairs window open.
Joey phoned police after returning home in the early hours, with police confirming to The Sun that they were investigating a break-in at a four-bed property in Chigwell, Essex.
A source told the publication that Joey and his friend James Bemewith, known to Towie fans as Diags, had realised what had happened as soon as they arrived back at the property.
They added: ‘Thieves had thoroughly ransacked the place. Joey was horrified and very shaken. It’s made him feel unsafe in the home.
‘The only thing to be grateful for is he was out when it happened.’
Joey bought the home in 2014, paying £1.6million for the property, and showcased it on an episode of MTV’s Cribs in 2019.
He is the latest star to reportedly be the victim of a burglary, with Love Island’s Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury recently losing £800,000 of belongings when their home in Manchester was targeted.
The pair moved home immediately after the robbery, never returning to the flat they had lived in over fears for their safety.
Molly-Mae told her followers at the time: ‘It was without a doubt the worst thing that’s ever happened to me, to us, I’d probably say.
‘It was just awful, horrendous, terrible. So we have been dealing with a lot. Our apartment was robbed, ransacked, emptied. You name it.’
