John Travolta shares video on Instagram of reading to children Ella and Benjamin in bed on Christmas

John Travolta shared a heartwarming video on Christmas that showed him reading in bed to his children Ella Bleu and Benjamin in bed.

The 67-year-old actor in the Instagram clip held a large red book while under the covers with Benjamin, 11, and Ella, 21.

‘Here we go, ’twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,’ he started reading before the family pup pulled away causing Benjamin to laugh.

‘Not a creature was stirring,’ he added with the exception of their dog.

The video continued with The Christmas Song about chestnuts roasting on an open fire in the background as John and his children cuddled up on a couch. 

‘Merry Christmas everybody,’ John said as Benjamin and Ella smiled and waved at the camera.

The family enjoyed Christmas together at their Isleboro, Maine vacation home.

The Grease star also gave a glimpse of the family of three’s festivities on Christmas Eve with an Instagram video in which he wished his roughly 3.7 million followers: ‘Merry Christmas Eve everyone!’

Travolta and his kids — whom he shares with his late wife Kelly Preston — jetted to their East Coast estate and spent the night enjoying quality time that included music by the fireplace and playing with the family dog.

The Saturday Night Fever star re-posted a 40-second video of their intimate evening which was set to the tune Dizzy, an original song from daughter Ella.

Happy holidays: ‘Merry Christmas Eve everyone!’ the actor wrote as he posted a video montage of their evening 

The family boarded a private jet where Ella brought wrapping paper as her ‘carry-on,’ and upon touching down entered their snow-covered Maine home, which was decked out with Christmas lights. 

The artful montage showed the family savoring the holidays along with their puppy, and their decorations included a tree stacked with gifts. 

The Christmas holiday marks the second without Travolta’s wife Kelly, who tragically passed away at the age of 57 after a private two-year battle with breast cancer.

At the time of her death in the summer of 2020, ‘She had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends,’ said her rep.  

Following Preston’s passing, Travolta had made the decision to list their Maine vacation home for $5 million, but as the family are celebrating the holidays there it appears he either changed his mind or is still looking for a buyer. 

Kelly and John had purchased the 20-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom home in 1991 — the same year they married — and designing it was a passion project for them. 

‘Though we both have strong ideas, we’ll each compromise, and we’ll work together on every aspect until it’s right,’ they told Architectural Digest years later of their redecorating process, which they called a ’60-day marathon.’

Cozy: The video featured a snap of Ella playing with the family dog next to the family tree which was lined with presents 

A year after her passing the Grease star had opened up about an emotional conversation he had with 11-year-old son Ben relative to life and death. 

‘He [Ben] said to me once, “Because Mom passed away, I’m afraid you’re going to,” Travolta recalled on Kevin Hart’s talk show Hart to Heart. 

John continued to say that he told him ‘the truth’ and said: ‘Nobody knows when they’re gonna go or when they’re going to stay,’ while adding that he and Kelly had different circumstances due to her health struggles. 

Additionally the family lost son Jett in 2009, after he passed away at the age of 16 following a seizure which caused him to hit his head in the bathtub.
