City of Lies, a movie about the murder of The Notorious B.I.G., has reportedly been pulled just a month before it’s scheduled release.
The thriller, starring Johnny Depp, was to hit the theaters in North America on September 7, but it now stands canceled, according to distributors Global Road Entertainment.
City of Lies is based on Randall Sullivan‘s book, Labyrinth, which explores the unsolved murder of B.I.G. Depp plays the role of an LAPD detective investigating the murder.
Depp is currently facing a series of scandals. He was accused of attacking a location manager while shooting the film, and is reportedly facing a lawsuit from his former bodyguards.
A third controversy surrounding Depp is an allegation by his ex-wife, Amber Heard, of physical and verbal abuse against him.
