Kate Middleton and Prince William have shared another new photo of their daughter Princess Charlotte to mark the young Royal's eighth birthday today (May 2).

The Prince of Wales, 40, and Princess of Wales, 41, thanked their followers and fans for all the wonderful messages to honour their little girl's special day, and shared a special new snap following the official first one, as a reward.

"Thank you for all the birthday wishes," the post read on Twitter and Instagram, alongside an image of Charlotte cuddling the family's adorable dog, Orla.

The black cocker spaniel was adopted into the family after the sad death of their first pup Lupo in 2021, who had been given to them by Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.

With her arms wrapped around the stunning pooch, Charlotte grinned as she crouched down to play in a daffodil meadow.

As well as white daffodils all around her, the Princess shone as an array of violets and bluebells brought out the colours of her outfit.

Charlotte was wearing a pair of light blue jeans, a white collared shirt and a crochet blue and white striped jumper for the image, which formed the perfect spring scene.

Her sandy brown locks were loose and natural around her shoulders, and fans flocked to the comments as they gushed over the sweet picture.

"Ahh HBD Princess Charlotte. So much like your great grandma!" one person commented.

Another wrote: "Happy 8th Birthday Princess! Hope you have a lovely day x"

"Thank you to the Prince and Princess of Wales for sharing these lovely moments as the children grow up with us," a third gushed, followed by: "Adorable! Happy Birthday little one!"

"Oh my goodness! Thank you for the extra photo. Hope Princess Charlotte had a great birthday!" another royal fan added.

It comes as the princess's parents shared the official birthday snap to mark their daughter's milestone the night before.

Charlotte was photographed smiling as she posed in a beautiful floral and white spring dress, which featured dainty blue flowers printed all over.

It also came complete with a frilly collar, as the little girl posed in a large white peacock chair in Windsor this Bank Holiday weekend.

The family will be centre stage at the King’s coronation on May 6 – and Charlotte and her brothers are expected to watch their grandfather be crowned.

The princess is expected to accompany her siblings in the procession from Westminster Abbey which will follow the King’s coronation, according to newspaper reports.

Charlotte is the second child of the Prince and Princess of Wales and the younger sister of Prince George, nine – she also has a younger brother, Prince Louis, five.

George will be one of eight Pages of Honour during the service, joining a procession through the nave and assisting with the holding of robes.

The trio will also be expected on the Buckingham Palace balcony afterwards – with royal fans hoping for a repeat of Louis’s antics during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
