However, he is not allowed to travel, and a source told The Sun: ‘Doctors told Katie it would be better for Harvey’s health if he stayed at home. She’s heartbroken but of course she’ll take doctors advice.

‘Harvey will stay at home with his carer and Katie will still go – she’s taking Princess and Junior and some of their friends and she didn’t want to cancel their holiday and let them down, especially as Princess’s birthday party was disrupted by Harvey going to hospital.’

Harvey fell ill when the family were celebrating Princess’ 13th birthday at home, with Katie having to leave the party to be with her eldest child – who suffers from autism,  blindness, septo-optic dysplasia and Prader–Willi syndrome.

Also joining Katie, Princess and 15-year-old Junior is Katie’s new boyfriend, Carl Woods, 31.

A rep for Katie told The Sun: ‘Katie has had to make the heartbreaking decision to keep Harvey at home after doctors advised he should remain in the UK after his most recent hospital stay.

‘For Katie this past week has been a traumatic one. Spending time now with both Princess and Junior is just as equally important as the time she has spent dedicated to Harvey.

‘As a mother of five, Katie has learnt that she must divide her love five ways – not any easy task – but still she remains focused on being the best mother to them all.

‘Harvey will remain in the wonderful care of his carer and with his youngest siblings Jett and Bunny.’

For the kids: ‘Harvey will stay at home with his carer and Katie will still go – she’s taking Princess and Junior and some of their friends and she didn’t want to cancel their holiday and let them down, especially as Princess’s birthday party was disrupted by Harvey going to hospital,’ a source said

MailOnline has approached Katie’s rep for further comment.

Katie is said to believe that her boyfriend Carl is ‘the one’ after he supported her while Harvey was sick in hospital.

The former glamour model was by her son’s side as he fought for his life over a 10-day period in intensive care before he was discharged on Tuesday.

According to The Sun, Katie has told her friends that Carl is her ‘rock’ and he has been keeping her spirits up during Harvey’s stay in hospital.

A source said: ‘The past week has been one of the worst Katie has ever gone through in her life. But Carl, from the very first moment, has been amazing.

‘He’s been there for Katie to cry her heart out to and he’s always made sure she’s OK. Katie knew Carl was an amazing guy but she’s seen a very different person this week.

‘In her eyes he is absolutely a keeper and Katie is looking forward to what she thinks will be an amazing future.’

Friends of the star are reported to have said Katie was particularly impressed when Carl called out trolls leaving horrible comments about Harvey.

It comes after the mother-of-five recently professed her love for former Love Island star Carl, saying he is the man she will spend the rest of her life with.

Sharing a snap of the couple on a dinner date, she wrote: ‘Knowing that @carljwoods will be the last man I want to spend the rest my life with is an understatement! I love him so much.’

Katie, who has been dating Carl for over a month, put her arms on the former reality star’s shoulders and stared lovingly at him.

The pair are said to have known each other for years before deciding to take their relationship to the next level.

Support: Katie has told her friends that Carl is her ‘rock’ and he has been keeping her spirits up during Harvey’s stay in hospital

It appears things are moving quickly for the couple as Katie recently admitted they have even shared their social media passwords with each other.

Speaking in a YouTube video with Katie, Carl said: ‘We’re in a relationship and we have each other’s Instagrams.

‘We’ve got our passwords, my Instagram’s on her phone and hers is on mine so there is no inboxing or messaging anyone.’

Katie recently revealed eight doctors fought to save Harvey’s life after suffering from breathing complications and his temperature rising to 42 degrees.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Katie is delighted, the call was made this afternoon shortly after lunch to discharge Harvey.

A source said: ‘The past week has been one of the worst Katie has ever gone through in her life. But Carl, from the very first moment, has been amazing’

‘She has been overwhelmed already by well wishers, the staff, doctors and nurses are delighted but sad to see Harvey go – he is such an amazing spirit and character.

‘Katie can breathe a sigh of relief and will no less be showering him with cuddles tonight.

‘Katie would like to again thank all staff, the doctors and nurses at Epsom hospital and for all the wonderful, kind, ongoing support, Harvey, herself and her family have received.’

The news comes after Katie slammed her ex Dwight Yorke for not getting in touch while their son Harvey fought for his life in the intensive care unit.

Gruelling fight: Katie’s eldest offspring spent several days fighting for his life in intensive care

The television personality revealed that Harvey ‘could have died’ however his father still failed to reach out to her after he was rushed to hospital last week.

Katie and Dwight dated for 18 months and she welcomed their son Harvey in 2002, however he initially denied he was Harvey’s father demanded a paternity test.

Speaking to New magazine, she said: ‘Whether you want to be in your son’s life or not, you still created him and he’s still your son.

‘If you know your son is in intensive care and there’s a chance he could die, as a human being with feelings you should get in contact.’

Despite Dwight’s reluctance to see Harvey, Katie said her ex-husband and Harvey’s former step father Peter Andre wanted to visit him in hospital.

Katie said that Peter has ‘stepped up’ and has been really supportive during this tough time, as well as asking if he can come and see Harvey with her.
