Kardashian initially launched Skims in June of 2019, and the line’s original name was Kimono.
The brand’s first moniker was met with much controversy, and the entrepreneur was accused of cultural appropriation.
It was later announced in August of that year that the company’s name had been changed to Skims, and it has remained as such ever since then.
