Kim Kardashian says Kanye’s new album Jesus Is King is ‘dropping on Sunday’… after posting videos from Detroit listening party

Kim Kardashian has reassured fans that husband Kanye West’s album Jesus Is King is due out on Sunday after a delay from its previously announced release date of Sept. 27. 

The reality star Insta-storied an all-text post on Friday evening that read: ‘Kanye’s doing a listening session in Chicago tomorrow, then NYC Sunday. He’s dropping the album Sunday. Just a few final tweaks to the mixes.’ 

Earlier in the day, Kim tweeted a photo of the album’s track listing scrawled on a Marriott hotel notepad with the caption ‘Have faith…’

Fans were disappointed on Wednesday after sources from Variety and Billboard announced that the album has been delayed, and will not be released as planned on Friday, September 27.  

Kardashian confused audiences further after she seemed to indicate through a retweet that the album was still to drop on Friday.

Kardashian retweeted a tweet from @colinags, which stated ‘2 more days Jesus Is King,’ which seemed to indicate the album will drop as scheduled.

While the identity of @colinags is not known, West follows the Twitter account – though this tweet happened hours before the reports of the album’s delay.

Although the album’s release was delayed, promotion for it continued in full force on Friday. 

Adding to the hype was a video Kardashian Insta-storied of a Jesus Is Lord film screening at an Imax theater.

Hordes of fans cheered from the aisles while they looked above at Kanye, who held a mic on a balcony.

West was expected to release a new album in 2018 entitled Yandhi, though the album was, like Jesus Is King, delayed at the last minute and ultimately scrapped.

Kardashian first announced Jesus Is King via Twitter in late August, where she released a photo revealing the track list and release date.
