Kourtney and Travis are 'praying for a miracle' amid IVF journey

Kourtney Kardashian, 42, and Travis Barker, 46, are ‘praying for a miracle’ as they continue ‘hard’ IVF journey in hopes of welcoming first child together

Kourtney Kardashian and fiance Travis Barker are said to be ‘praying for a miracle’ as they continue their efforts to conceive and have their first child together.

‘[Kourtney] feels like she’s almost at the cut-off age of having kids, so this is almost like her last chance,’ a source told Us Weekly on Wednesday.

Kourtney, 42, is currently undergoing IVF treatments to help her get pregnant, which is a process the couple are taking ‘seriously.’

IVF, which stands for invitro fertilization, is usually used by women or couples who are struggling to conceive naturally.

It involves the retrieval of eggs from the ovaries, which are then fertilized by sperm in a lab, before being transferred into the uterus.

Travis, 46, ‘is fully supporting [Kourtney] every step of the way’ and the journey has only made the ‘very close’ couple even closer.

‘The journey just affirmed their bond and love for each other.’

Kourtney would ‘love’ to have a baby with Travis ‘especially since they’re going to get married and will soon officially be husband and wife,’ the insider added.

Kourtney is expected to share details about her ‘incredibly special’ experience with IVF on her family’s new Hulu show, The Kardashians, which premieres Thursday, April 14.

‘Her relationship with Travis was filmed so it was important for her to also share her pregnancy journey,’ said the source.

‘They’re very committed to each other and raising their kids as a blended family but are hoping to have a child together.’

Kourtney is already mother to three children – Mason, 12, Penelope, nine, and Reign, seven – and the insider insisted that the star just ‘loves being pregnant.’

She shares the trio with ex boyfriend Scott Disick, 38.

Travis is no stranger to parenthood as he shares daughter Alabama, 16, and son Landon, 18, with ex wife Shanna Moakler, 47.

The couple’s blended brood are said to be ‘just as excited about the possibility of having another sibling’ as the couple are about potentially getting pregnant.

Ultimately, Travis’ teens Landon and Alabama ‘just want their father to be happy’ and have already formed ‘close’ bonds with Kourtney’s children.

‘[They] fully support whatever makes him happy,’ the source noted.

Kourtney recently spoke about her fertility struggles and how difficult it’s been both mentally and physically.

‘It’s a beautiful thing that we’d love to have happen, but the journey is a bit hard for any woman who went on it,’ she told Entertainment Tonight.

Last month, a leaked trailer of the family’s new reality series, The Kardashians, showed the reality star in the process of possibly conceiving with Barker as the couple visited a specialist.

‘And emotional,’ added Kourtney’s sister Khloe, who also went through a similarly challenging experience with invitro fertilization which was documented on season 20 of KUWTK.

Kourtney also claimed last month that IVF medication ‘put her into menopause’, which caused her to gain weight due to fluctuating estrogen levels.

Menopause is a natural part of aging that usually occurs between 45 and 55 years of age, as a woman’s estrogen levels decline. Research on whether in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment can trigger menopause is sparse and not yet cemented.

‘Travis and I want to have a baby,’ she said in voiceover while footage of the Blink-182 drummer proposing on the beach is shown.

Kourtney also shared her upset over the ‘rude’ comments she has recently received about her weight gain, which she says was also triggered by her IVF drugs.

‘I’m, like, it’s so rude to comment on people when you have no idea what they’re going through,’ she said.

‘Beautiful thing’: Kourtney recently spoke about her fertility struggles and how difficult it’s been both mentally and physically. ‘It’s a beautiful thing that we’d love to have happen, but the journey is a bit hard for any woman who went on it,’ she told Entertainment Tonight

‘The medication that they’ve been giving me, they put me into menopause. Literally into menopause.’

Many women who are preparing to undergo IVF will be given one or more forms of fertility drug by their doctor, which are used to trigger the release of hormones that then stimulate egg production.

Kris looked flustered, replied, ‘Based off of what? A drug?’ with Kourtney replying, ‘Yes,’ though she didn’t specify what medications she had been taking as part of her fertility treatments.

Kourtney didn’t clarify in the clip if she is still menopausal, or whether she was just experiencing menopause-like symptoms, which include irregular periods, hot flashes, chills, night sweats – and weight gain.

Fertility drugs have been known to cause symptoms that are very similar to those experienced during menopause, including hot flashes, weight gain, changes in mood, and bloating.

Kourtney and Travis took their years-long friendship to a romantic level in February 2021.

The brunette beauty recently revealed she initially ‘had a fear’ of ruining their friendship, but ultimately things have gone in strides and worked out perfectly.
