Kris Jenner’s SHOCKING love life laid bare: A look back at the momager’s marriages – and AFFAIR – after daughter Khloe called her a ‘cheater’ on The Kardashians
Kris Jenner got a major shock on the latest episode of The Kardashians when her daughter Khloé Kardashian confronted her about a past cheating scandal.
The 67-year-old reality star and momager has had several high-profile romances and marriages, including to the O.J. Simpson trial fixture Robert Kardashian and former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner, 73.
But Kris has also previously admitted to an affair in the latter days of her marriage to Kardashian — who died in 2003 at age 59 — that forever shattered their union and led to their divorce.
The affair with the former soccer player Todd Waterman — which he spoke out about to DailyMail.com in 2012 — set off Khloé after Kris tried to give her advice about her philandering ex Tristan Thompson’s affairs.
Now DailyMail.com takes a look back at Kris’ love life and the relationships that have helped shape her reality television empire and her famous family.
The details: DailyMail.com looks back at Kris Jenner’s love life after her daughter Khloé Kardashian referenced her affair with Todd Waterman in the latest episode of The Kardashians. The affair came during the final days of her marriage to Robert Kardashian and ended it; seen October 1 in Paris
Robert Kardashian
First marriage: Kris married Robert Kardashian in 1978, after dating for five years. They shared four children: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé and Rob Kardashian; seen with Robert Shapiro in 1994
Kris Jenner’s first marriage was to Robert Kardashian, who provided her famous family’s name.
The attorney, who was a college pal of O.J. Simpson, tied the knot with Kris Houghton in 1978, and she went on to change her name to Kris Kardashian.
The couple met earlier in the decade, when she was only 17 and dating the professional golfer Cesar Sanudo.
Their early years were tumultuous and included a breakup, after which Robert began dating Elvis Presley’s ex-wife Priscilla Presley, while Kris dated the photographer Alfred M. Garcia.
Robert’s daughter Kim Kardashian claimed on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that her father was even briefly engaged to Priscilla, before they went their separate ways.
After Kris and Robert’s reunion and subsequent marriage, she welcomed her oldest child, Kourtney Kardashian, in 1979.
Their daughter Kim followed in 1980, and Khloé was born in 1984.
Kris and Robert welcomed their final child and only son, Rob, in 1987.
The end: Kris and Robert divorced in 1991 after he learned of the affair. He later represented his friend O.J. Simpson at his murder trial. Kardashian died at 59 in 2003 from esophageal cancer; seen with Kourtney (R) in 1998
The couple eventually separated in 1991 and divorced the same year, though they managed to remain close friends until Robert’s tragic death in 2003 from esophageal cancer.
Kardashian is best known to the public for his involvement with O.J. Simpson’s defense team during his trial for the 1994 murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman.
He and Simpson had been friends going back to their time at the University of Southern California, and Simpson would serve as his best man when he married Kris in 1978.
Kardashian was wrapped up in early controversies even before the trial when he was seen carrying Simpson’s garment bag, which prosecutors later claimed may have included evidence from the murders.
Although Kardashian had allowed his law license to lapse, he reactivated so as to serve as a volunteer on the athlete-turned-actor’s defense team, which also meant that he couldn’t be forced to testify about Simpson.
However, he admitted years later that he had doubts about his old friend’s professed innocence, and they later cut off all contact despite Simpson being acquitted in his criminal trial.
Todd Waterman
Secret man: Kris began an affair with Todd Waterman in 1989. He was a soccer player for the LA Heat before becoming an Emmy-nominated animator and director
Yikes: Khloé brought up the affair on The Kardashians after Kris lectured her on how to react to Tristan Thompson’s cheating
Awkward: ‘What was the mindset when you cheated?’ Khloé asked. She wondered if her mother understood all the consequences when she began the affair
One of the factors leading up to the dissolution of Kris Jenner’s marriage to Robert Kardashian was an affair she carried on toward the end with Todd Waterman.
Waterman is now professional known as an Emmy-nominated animator and television director, but at the time he and Kris struck up an affair he was a 23-year-old soccer player for the LA Heat.
Kris’ daughter Khloé referenced the affair on the latest Kardashians episode. After she and Kris discussed how to treat Khloé’s philandering ex Tristan Thompson.
After Kris mentioned that Tristan would likely be ‘devastated’ to see Khloé move on with another man, her daughter asked, ‘If you’re gonna be devastated then why did you do what you did?’
Kris began to reply, ‘I don’t think…’ but hesitated before Khloe continued: ‘What was the mindset when you cheated?’ referring to Kris’ affair with Todd Waterman that ultimately lead to her and Robert Kardashian splitting up.
Kris sounded shocked, relpying: ‘You’re asking me?’
‘Who the f*** else am I talking to?’ Khloé replied, just as the episode ended, noting that the discussion would be continued on the next episode.
Todd told DailyMail.com in 2012 that he and Kris began their relationship in 1989, over a decade after she married Robert.
His first glimpse of her wasn’t in person, though, but when he saw a photo of her at a friend’s home in Beverly Hills.
Kris initially revealed the relationship in her 2011 memoir Kris Jenner… And All Things Kardashian, though she referred to Todd by the pseudonym Ryan.
She said she fell in love with the athlete and artist after feeling underappreciated and ignored.
‘His name was Ryan, and he was a producer. He looked like Rob Lowe. For a second, I thought he was Rob Lowe,’ she gushed in her book. ‘He was so cute: young, dark hair, great body. We started talking.’
She also wrote ecstatically about the first time he kissed her, sealing their affair.
‘That kiss was more than amazing; it was like a revival, a resuscitation, an awakening from some long, deep, unconscious sleep. I hadn’t been kissed like that in ten years,’ she wrote.
‘It made me feel young, attractive, sexy, and alive. Along with these feelings came a wave of nausea. I actually wanted to throw up at the same time. Because it dawned on me that I had not felt that way with Robert for years,’ Kris admitted.
But the affair also left her with tremendous guilt for how it affected her husband Robert and led to the dissolution of their marriage.
‘I had lost Robert. Suddenly, I realized everything that was great about my marriage. Robert was the greatest guy in the world,’ she admitted. ‘He would never cheat on me. He only wanted the best for me.’
Kris went on to bemoan how she ‘treated’ Robert ‘so badly,’ even though he ‘adored’ her.
‘To this day, I still cannot tell you why,’ she said of her choice to start the affair. Again, it was as if my body had been taken over by demons or aliens. I was really ashamed of myself.’
But Kris said she ‘didn’t try to get Robert back’ for fear of ‘insulting’ him after betraying his trust.
‘I had embarrassed him, humiliated him, destroyed him,’ she wrote.
Stuck in the middle: Todd told DailyMail.com that Robert discovered them via a private detective and swung a golf club at his car before a high-speed chase. He also claimed to have continued having sex after Kris started dating Caitlyn Jenner
Following the memoir’s publication, Todd came forward, revealing his real name and details about the affair.
He called their time together ‘crazy and passionate,’ and he claimed that the first time they had sex was after a night out dancing at a club.
They went back to a friend’s house, and they settled on a closet as the location of their first lovemaking session.
‘It was a magical night, surreal,’ he said, adding that it was ‘fate’ that brought them together.
Todd took umbrage at Kris describing his apartment in LA’s Studio City as ‘tiny’ and ‘dumpy,’ as it was allegedly her who had urged him to rent the place so they could have a space of their own.
‘She picked the apartment. We found it together,’ Todd said.
In her book, Kris described how they had ‘wild crazy sex’ in several risky locations, including in her garage, on her tennis court and even in cars, which Todd didn’t dispute.
He joked that they were ‘prolific’ at that time, though he speculated that Robert was aware of the affair after he appeared to try to throw him off his game when he played a game of tennis with Kris while Robert watched.
Kris later claimed that Robert hired a private detective to learn that they were having an affair.
After the revelation, the two began stepping out publicly, but Robert confronted them as they were leaving Todd’s apartment.
The former athlete described the scary encounter, in which Kardashian chased after his Jeep with a golf club and wacked it against the vehicle.
Todd was driving Kris home at the time, but she urged him not to confront Robert out of fear that he might have a gun with him.
In his interview, Todd described Robert’s high-speed chase, followed shortly by the lawyer’s divorce filing.
He added that he was heartbroken when his relationship with Kris came to an end, and he noted that Kourtney seemed to be the only one of the Kardashian children who was distraught by the affair and divorce.
He also shot back at rumors that he was Khloé’s father, and he defended Robert as her true father.
Todd shockingly claimed to DailyMail.com that he continued having sex with Kris for several months into the beginning of her relationship with Caitlyn Jenner in 1991.
The former athlete, who presented as a man at the time, married Kris later that year, and Todd said he then moved to London to move on from the relationship, but he claimed that he and Kris had a tearful conversation after she called him up three months into her new marriage.
He claimed that Kris didn’t speak to him again until she contacted him via email in 2000. She suggested they get together some time, but even though he would throw out times to get coffee together, she got cold feet each time they tried to meet.
Caitlyn Jenner
Moving on: Kris and Caitlyn Jenner were married in April 1991, a month after finalizing her divorce. The Olympian would go on to be a fixture of Keeping Up With The Kardashians
Falling apart: They divorced in 2014 and Caitlyn came out as trans in 2015. She later said she told Kris years earlier, and that she had taken hormones during their marriage
Kris and Caitlyn Jenner only dated for five months, starting at the end of 1990, before they married in April of 1991, just one month after she finalized her divorce from Robert Kardashian.
They went on to expand their family, welcoming their future model daughter Kendall Jenner in 1995 and their cosmetics mogul child Kylie Jenner in 1997, marking Kris’ final children.
Kris and her gold medalist spouse enjoyed an ideal marriage for years, before it took a tumultuous turn in 2007 with the premiere of their family’s reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The lovebirds would even go on to renew their marriage vows in 2011, and that trip to Bora Bora was featured on the series.
But two years later, Caitlyn and Kris announced that they had separated.
They were divorced in 2014, and Caitlyn came out in 2015 as a transgender woman, before subsequently debuting her new name.
Caitlyn later revealed that she had told Kris years earlier that she was transgender, and she said she had been taking gender-confirming female hormones during their marriage.
The transition news initially sparked cold reactions from Kris and Caitlyn’s daughters Kendall and Kylie, though the two later repaired their relationship with the trans rights activist.
Corey Gamble
Newest love: Kris’ latest and current relationship is with her longtime partner Corey Gamble, a talent manager and a fixture of her reality shows; seen October 1 in Paris
Kris’ latest and current relationship is with her longtime partner Corey Gamble.
She began dating Corey, who works as a talent manager, in 2014 amid her divorce from Caitlyn, though they waited a year before going Instagram official.
The two have been practically inseparable since then, and he is a regular fixture at many of her famous family’s public events.
However, Corey has also taken a back seat when it comes to deciding family matters, particularly on their reality shows Keeping Up With The Kardashians and it’s bigger-budget Hulu follow-up The Kardashians.
Kris has at times worn a large diamond ring on her wedding finger since hooking up with Corey, though she has also said she doesn’t have any plans to marry again.
The lovebirds were most recently spotted together earlier this month during a trip to Paris Fashion Week.
