Love Island: ‘Anything I do in here is f*****g fake’ Crying Ollie Williams LEAVES the villa after telling co-stars he has feelings for his ex… amid backlash over his big game hunting

  • It was announced on Tuesday that Ollie had quit Love Island 2020
  • Ollie said of the decision: ‘I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else… I have to follow my heart in this scenario’
  • Despite these reasons, Ollie was on track to become the most complained-about Islander in the show’s history, after photos surfaced of him hunting big game
  • A Love Island spokesman said: ‘He was not made aware whilst he was in the villa of any press stories running around him
  • ‘As with all Islanders, since leaving the villa he has now been briefed as to what has been written and said about him as part of our duty of care
  • ‘We will be supporting Ollie as he leaves the villa’
  • However an insider told MailOnline: ‘It was only right that Ollie was informed of the situation occurring outside of the villa so the welfare team stepped in’

Love Island’s Ollie Williams cried as he left the villa on Wednesday’s episode after revealing he still has feelings for his ex.

The land owner, 23, who sparked an online backlash after photos emerged of him posing with the carcasses of dead animals he had killed, was emotional as he broke the news to his fellow Islanders that he had quit the show.

The star, who was coupled up with Paige Turley, gathered Islanders around the firepit to announce his departure, after telling the boys he felt ‘anything I do in here is fake’ due to his enduring feelings for his ex.

Farewell: Love Island’s Ollie Williams cried as he left the villa on Wednesday’s episode after revealing he still has feelings for his ex

He said: ‘This is Love Island and I am leaving for love

‘Getting to know Paige has made me realise that I still gave feelings for someone else on the outside. If I stay here I’m not being honest with my own heart.

‘Unfortunately I have to leave.’

‘This is the hardest decision I’ve ever made but she’s the love of my life. When you’ve got that you can’t risk throwing that away. I’ll see you on the outside I guess.

Emotion: The land owner, 23, who sparked an online backlash after photos emerged of him posing with the carcasses of dead animals he had killed, was emotional as he broke the news to his fellow Islanders that he had quit the show

Backlash: Photos surfaced over the weekend of him posing with various dead carcasses, guns rested against the corpses, supposedly to promote his hunting business

Leanne Amaning said: ‘This is what every girl wants, a man to declare their love for them to the whole world. He went with his heart. I will miss him.

Breaking down in tears, Ollie said: ‘Being on Love Island is incredible, I’ve made friends for life. I will miss the fun and laughter I’ve had here. That is what I’ll really miss.

Paige said: ‘I am not settling for anything less than love. He’s set the bar for everyone in here.

Connor said: ‘I’m sad, we bonded so well. But I’m happy for him.;

Teasing his exit Ollie pulled Connor, Mike, Callum and Nas for a chat as he revealed he still had feelings for his ex.

He said: ‘Getting to know Paige, I’ve realised I still have feelings for someone else.

No way: Connor Durman and Callum Jones were in shock as Ollie broke the news

‘Lads, my heads f****d. Paige has played a part in it, getting to know Paige has made me realise something quite big

‘Since my last girlfriend, made me realise I’ve still got feelings for her,. I’m being dishonest to everyone. Anything I do in here is f*****g fake

Connor said: ‘This is a once in a lifetime. What if someone walks in and you forget about your ex?

An emotional Ollie said: ‘It’s taken f*****g this to make me realise what I feel about her. Whatever I f*****g decide, you four have been like brothers.

‘I could be throwing away the love of my life by staying here.’

Ollie had told Paige before announcing his decision to quit, saying:  ‘Something has come to light that’s made me think long and hard about being here. I still have feelings for my last girlfriend

What? Mike Boateng couldn’t believe what he was hearing as Ollie quit

He said: ‘Since my last girlfriend, made me realise I’ve still got feelings for her,. I’m being dishonest to everyone. Anything I do in here is f*****g fake’

As Paige responded happily: ‘Ahhh’ as Ollie said: ‘I know it’s s**t, I didn’t think those feelings were there anymore

‘I could just carry on but you need to get as much out of this process as you can. She might tell me to f**k off. I have to wear my heart on my sleeve

Ollie added: ‘I gotta leave. I’m sorry, I feel I’ve wasted your time. I could stay and carry on but it wouldn’t be fair, it’s being honest with myself.’

Earlier in the episode, Ollie pulled Paige to one side to apologise for cracking onto Siannise, saying: ‘I’m just really sorry, that’s all I can say.’

Paige says: ‘I appreciate you apologising.’

Ollie retorts: ‘I’m not a liar, I pride myself on my honesty. That is the end of any kind of honesty. Just give me a chance to get to know me better and you will be surprised. Give me a chance to prove I’m trustworthy.

Goodbye: Ollie hugged Connor as he said his final farewell to the villa

In the beach hut he added: ‘I feel we’re now moving forward in the right direction, lets takes things day by day, takes things easy and slow.’

Ollie described his relationship with an ex as toxic just days before quitting the villa to be with former flame Laura Nofer.

In scenes that aired on Monday night, the hunk admitted one of his relationships didn’t end well, as he was exposed for cheating on one of his exes ‘eight or nine times’ during the Spill The Tea challenge.

It came after Love Island announced that Ollie had quit the villa after he decided to to rekindle his relationship with ex Laura, but fans have since claimed it’s a ‘cover up’ due to public backlash after he was accused of being a trophy hunter.

Support: Ollie had told partner Paige Turley before announcing his decision to quit, saying: ‘Something has come to light that’s made me think long and hard about being here. I still have feelings for my last girlfriend’

Fans have been unconvinced by Ollie’s reasoning for leaving the villa, with many rushing to Twitter to claim that it is a ‘cover up’ by ITV bosses.

Leading the reaction was former Love Island star Olivia Attwood, who hinted that he may have been ‘pushed’ to leave the show after hitting back at a fan on social media.

One viewer tweeted: ‘Tbf, fair play to Ollie. Could’ve stayed, got his 1m insta followers, ended the relationship and run back to his ex (see Olivia Attwood), but didn’t.

‘I know some things he’s done is wrong but I think he’s made a good decision here. #LoveIsland.’

Meanwhile The Apprentice star Luisa Zissman, 32, made it clear she believes ITV ‘pushed him’ to leave, suggesting both parties are now ‘saving face’.

Disbelief: Shaugna Phillips, Paige and the twins couldn’t believe Ollie was leaving

No way: Leanne Amaning and Mike hung their heads as Ollie’s departure was announced

On Tuesday it was announced that Ollie has quit the ITV2 series when he said in a statement the show made him realise he was still in love with his ex, Laura Nofer, 23.

But Love Island fans have suggested Ollie’s departure is a ‘cover up’ and claim he was ‘urged to quit’ after his controversial hobby was exposed.

Photos surfaced over the weekend of him posing with various dead carcasses, guns rested against the corpses to promote his hunting business – leading to a furious reaction and an online petition to get him removed from the island.

However, viewers began to speculate that Ollie’s exit from the show was due to his hunting past and that his ex-girlfriend was an excuse for him to leave Love Island.

Teasr: Breaking down in tears, Ollie said: ‘Being on Love Island is incredible, I’ve made friends for life. I will miss the fun and laughter I’ve had here. That is what I’ll really miss’

One wrote: ‘That Ollie being ‘kicked out for being ‘in love with his ex’ is such a cover-up!’ while another added: ‘That Ollie has left #LoveIsland as he’s ‘still in love with his ex’!! has absolutely nothing, nothing to do with all the complaints ITV was getting about him being a trophy hunter

‘The influence Twitter has is honestly incredible.’

‘There were too many complaints after his trophy hunting hobby was revealed and ITV can’t ignore that.’

Another added: ‘Ollie has left the villa apparently as he still loves someone else on the outside and it’s not fair for him to be there. bulls**t.’

Miss you: Nas Majeed wrapped an arm around Ollie as he prepared to depart

Waved off: The Islanders gathered to send Ollie off as they congregated at the door

Questions: Viewers recently began to speculate that Ollie’s exit from the show was due to his bloodthirsty hunting past and and that his ex-girlfriend was an excuse for him to leave Love Island – and this speculation continued on Wednesday

Another typed: ‘So Ollie went through the application stage, auditioning, was put into quarantine before the show started and now he realises he’s still not over his ex (is this the one he cheated on??) LOL YEAH RIGHT.’

One fan wrote: ‘Ollie has left love island due to still being in love with his ex’ in other words ITV have told him to leave due to the backlash they have been getting because he kills animals for fun…vile man.’

An insider told MailOnline that Ollie was told about the emergence of the photos before he left the villa, saying: ‘It was only right that Ollie was informed of the situation occurring outside of the villa so the welfare team stepped in.’

However a Love Island spokesman said: ‘Ollie made the decision to leave off his own back and explained his reasons for doing so in his quote.

Denial: Sources close to the contestant previously denied any suggestion that he has hunted for sport after pictures emerged of Ollie posing alongside a variety of dead animals

Controversy: Love Island viewers had been in uproar after photos of the heir to the 2,000-acre Lanhydrock estate in Cornwall emerged of him proudly posing beside a warthog, water buffalo and giant eland to promote his hunting business

‘He was not made aware whilst he was in the villa of any press stories running around him but as with all Islanders, since leaving the villa he has now been briefed as to what has been written and said about him as part of our duty of care.

‘We will be supporting Ollie as he leaves the villa.

Ollie cited unrelated reasons for quitting the show, however.

In a scene that is expected to air on Tuesday night, Ollie said in the Beach Hut: ‘I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else… I have to follow my heart in this scenario and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings.

‘At the end of the day, this is Love Island and it’s about finding love. If I carried on anything with [current partner] Paige [Turley], or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn’t be fair on them.’

A rep for Love Island simply told MailOnline: ‘Ollie has made the decision to leave the Love Island villa.’

No spark? At the start of the series Ollie was coupled up with singer Paige  but recent scenes have seen the pair struggled to form a connection

Love Island bosses previously told MailOnline that they have ‘no intention’ of axing Ollie, with a further source saying producers of the ITV2 series refuse to ‘bow down to the public on a moral issue’ as they don’t believe keeping Ollie on the show will affect viewing figures.

An insider told MailOnline: ‘It is highly unlikely Ollie will be booted off the series. He’s part of the lineup and already filmed the first episode – bosses see no reason to kick him off.’

The source continued: ‘Love Island cast Ollie out of thousands of applicants and are sticking to their decision.

‘They’re hoping this will all blow over once the audience gets to know Ollie after seeing him on screen.’

But it’s thought that Ollie’s time was running out, as he was set to become the most complained-about contestant in the show’s history.

Having only appeared on screens for the first time on Sunday night when the show returned, the Cornish land owner received a slew of hate after the photographs of him hunting were unearthed.

Pals close to Ollie have insisted that he is actually dedicated to conversation, with one reportedly telling The Mirror he was culling sick animals to protect the health of others in Africa.

This has led to nearly 500 complaints over the course of the one and a half days since the premiere episode aired on January 12.

Criticism: Ollie’s hunting past also led him to become one of the most complained-about contestants in the show’s history, with 500 viewers contacted media watchdog Ofcom
