Love Island ‘in talks to sign beautician with famous footballer ex for new series’

Love Island bosses have reportedly signed beautician Sophie Draper up to appear in the upcoming series of the dating show.

Sophie, 22, dated footballer Matty Cash, who plays for Aston Villa, for four years before splitting last year.

The pair had been living together with their dog before they parted ways.

Sophie is understood to still be single after her split from Matty and it’s rumoured that ITV2 bosses think she’s a great fit for ITV2 dating show.

A TV source told The Sun, “Sophie is a gorgeous girl who is really driven and determined to succeed.

“She has her own beauty salon and already lead a jet set lifestyle, which she likes showing off on Instagram, so she wouldn’t be fazed by being on the TV.”

They continued: “Love Island bosses think she could be a good fit for the show, it’s early days still but she definitely has potential.”

Matty, 24, was reported to have had a short lived relationship with Love Island star Kady McDermott last year as the pair attended Wimbledon together in the summer, but they are understood to have split in November.

The source added of Matty's reaction: “Matty would be pretty shocked to see her looking for love on TV, but he publicly moved on pretty quickly.“

Matty recently signed an extension contract with Aston Villa, and has been in talks for a £40 million transfer to Atletico Madrid, though he has chosen to stay in the UK.

Although he was born in the UK he recently switched his allegiance to Poland, helping them qualify for the World Cup.

Sophie is based in Nottingham and owns and runs her own beauty salon, Sophie Laura Beauty, which specialises in beauty treatments, nails and hair.

Her Instagram already boasts a following of 19.3k and she’s already living a lavish lifestyle with multiple holidays to glamorous destinations favoured by reality stars, such as Dubai and Mexico.

She frequently poses with designer handbags and luxury clothes in fashionable venues such as Dash in Liverpool and Tatu in Birmingham.

Love Island opened for applications at the start of the year, with host Laura Whitmore returning to present the show for a whopping £500k fee.

Last year's series of Love Island was won by couple Millie Court and Liam Reardon. The couple have set up home together though their fans have been concerned about rumours of a split.

Love Island 2022 is set to have a shake up, and will be set in a new location though it looks likely that the new villa will still be on Majorca as ITV bosses have described it as the perfect backdrop.
