Love Island’s Brad McClelland was all smiles as he shared a sweet snap after reuniting with his nan on his return to the UK after being dumped from the villa.

Despite the harsh twist that saw Brad, 26, and Lucinda Strafford, 21, having to choose one of them to leave, he was beaming in the shot he shared on his Instagram as he cuddled his nan.

Brad is seen grinning as he bends down to put his arm round his grandmother, who is sat in a garden chair outside their home.

The Love Island star shows off his Majorcan tan in a grey Nike top and black shorts and captioned the sweet pic: “Well I’m back and reunited with me Nana!”

His nan sat to pose for the photo with her grandson and wore a pink jumper with a heart on it and dark trousers with slippers on her feet.

Brad spent three weeks in the villa and has been away from his nan much longer as the contestants all had to quarantine before going on the show.

He lives with his beloved gran in Amble, Northumberland, and spoke fondly of her in the villa.

Since joining the villa, Brad now has 306,000 Instagram followers as he rose to fame as a contestant on this year’s series.

His soaring popularity saw the heart-warming photo get an incredible 42,000 likes in less than half an hour of him posting it.

Fans flooded to the post to show their support for him. One said: “Adorable!! Gutted you left! It shouldn’t have been you. What a gent for putting yourself forward to leave xx”

Another shared: “Yes lad! That was harsh even for love island man, out of order you shouldn’t have left.”

While another wants to start a petition to get Brad back in the villa. They said: “Petition to send Brad back into the villa when it’s casa amour!!!!”

Brad was dumped from Love Island on Wednesday's show after he chose to save partner Lucinda Strafford from leaving.

Brad and Lucinda, who were coupled up, faced an agonising decision over which one of them would go home after they were voted the least compatible couple by the public.

Brad cried as he emotionally decided that he should be the one to leave after joining the ITV2 dating show as an original Islander last month, saying: "I've had my time in here, I'm not going to be selfish."

Lucinda was left equally upset over the decision as were all the Islanders who were all emotional at Brad’s sudden departure.
