The basic amount of calories an average adult needs per day is 2,000kcal for women or 2,500kcal for men. This is based on the amount of energy the body needs to carry out basic functions and to walk and work throughout the day.
Talking to PA, the former The X Factor star said that she doesn’t want people making the same mistakes as she did at the start of her journey.
She said: ‘All I really want to do is guide people on the same journey I have been on, that I am still on, but without all the mistakes.
‘At the beginning I was eating 500 calories a day, which is not enough for an adult human being.

‘And I just wanted to be able to put my message out there but with a qualified personal trainer and a nutritionist who know what they are talking about, to assist people to do the same.’
Lucy said that she hopes to open up a not for profit gym and community after the pandemic to help people’s physical and mental health.
Since her weight loss, the singer decided to have a boob job in November and has said that her new 34D assets have made her feel ‘absolutely incredible’ after they previously looked like ‘two snooker balls in a sock.’

HOW MANY CALORIES DO I NEED EACH DAY?
The basic amount of calories an average adult needs per day is 2,000kcal for women or 2,500kcal for men.
This is based on the amount of energy the body needs to carry out basic functions and to walk and work throughout the day.
People who exercise a lot need to eat more calories to fuel their efforts, and young people and children burn more energy, too.
If you eat more calories than you burn in a day, you will get fatter.
Eating fewer calories than you burn will make you lose weight.
Foods which are processed and have high levels of carbohydrate, sugar and salt have higher calorie numbers than fresh fruit and vegetables.
Example calorie counts include:
- A McDonald’s Big Mac contains 508kcal
- A two-finger KitKat contains 106kcal
- A banana contains 95kcal
- An apple contains 47kcal

The star admitted that she has ‘loose skin’ on her tummy and arms, adding that it is the one thing you can’t change without surgery.
The interview comes after Lucy revealed the results of her impressive six week body transformation on Instagram on Saturday.
The singer posted a before-and-after image showing how she’s been working on toning up her frame and now boasts very defined abs.
Lucy looked overjoyed with her new look, beaming a smile for the camera as she showcased her strong figure and impressive six pack.
In both images the former X factor contestant wore the same red velvet underwear from Calvin Klein, with the beauty adding a white baseball cap for her before snap.
She also shared an image taken at the four week point of her fitness challenge which showed her starting to have clearly defined abs.
Posting her incredible transformation pictures, Lucy shared some strong words with her followers warning them off writing anything negative.
The singer listed things that her snaps were, writing: ‘What it is: A documentation of some very hard work over 6 weeks!, for those interested in body composition change, a strong f****n’ bad ass, something I am proud of.’
And added a list of ‘what it’s not’, which included: ‘Asking for you to tell me which you prefer, for comments on what women (or anyone) should look like, and inviting negative b*********y.’
Lucy continued: ‘Remember the whole “well you put it out there you can *expect* some bad comments”
‘Well, I’m choosing to have faith in a bit of caption reading and good vibes today! I am eating loads, lifting heavier, feeling strong AS F**K.
‘Also, before anyone thinks “I preferred you with a little more weight”… Well I’m heavier in the right than I am in the left!
What a change! Lucy said that she wants to be ‘totally transparent’ as to what happens when you lose weight, adding that you get ‘loose skin’ and your ‘boobs become empty bags of skin’ (pictured at different stages of a six week body transformation on Saturday)
‘Irrelevant assumptions about irrelevant weights are also unwelcome! Thank you @mel__haslam__pt for your epic guidance and nutrition. You amaze me.’
It comes after Lucy showed off her toned abs while wearing a black skin-tight PVC catsuit and channelling her inner Mel C.
Leaning towards the camera, she stuck her tongue out while posing in a way that brought the singer’s look in the Spice Girls’ Say You’ll Be There music video to mind.
Proud: Lucy recently shared her delight at her body transformation and warned followers off posting any negative comments
Lucy’s dyed pink locks were pulled into a messy ponytail, and she accessorised with a pair of gold hoop earrings and a pendant necklace.
Joking with fans in the caption, she wrote: ‘It’s like my Mum always said back in the day: “Always have access to a PVC catsuit, as you don’t know when you’ll need to provoke unnecessary rage for a stranger on the internet by wearing it.
“Use their engagement as means to promote something like, I don’t know, an album called Choices that’s out 26th Feb 2020”. She taught me so well.’
