Emotional: Lucy Watson has revealed she couldn’t stop crying on the morning of her destination wedding, after a huge thunderstorm was forecast for the big day
She said: ‘If I look sad in those stories it’s because I was. It sounds soooo stupid but we spent a year planning the wedding and so much money/ time/ energy went into it… and on the day of the wedding there was a huge thunderstorm.
‘We basically got married in the rain and all the plans we’d made went out the window and we just had to work with what we had.
‘I had been crying about it morning, mainly out of frustration, not only for James and I, but also all our guests/ family.

‘However, as soon as I walked down the aisle and saw my soon-to-be husband smiling back at me, I couldn’t stop smiling from that point on and the rain became irrelevant in my mind.
‘Anyway just thought I’d explain my somewhat moody face (although it is always like that).’
Sharing a make-up free face with jelly eye patches on, a tired Lucy said: ‘I hadn’t slept as there was a thunderstorm all night. I also had a huge spot brewing on my head.

Lucy explained: ‘He got the hotel we were staying in to send me a letter saying we were going on a free yacht trip (awkwardly I wasn’t that surprised). He had booked the boat and planned everything.
‘The boat was stunning and I was trying to get content for the hotel. There was a full vegan meal and champagne and we went on a crazy beautiful tour of some private islands. Some of the prettiest scenes I’ve ever witnessed.
‘We went to take a photo together and there he was on one knee. I was literally in shock, my heart didn’t beat for like 3 seconds.
‘We then spent the day on the boat and had the best time with another couple we’re friends with, watched the sun go down. It was perfect.’
