She’s sold millions of records with her chart-topping voice.

Yet Mary J. Blige was away from the microphone on Friday as she enjoyed a day kitted out in head-to-toe Gucci at the 76ers v New York Knicks game in Madison Square Garden. 

The No More Drama songstress, 48, grinned as she took her courtside seat in an extravagant pair of Original GG canvas over-the-knee boots worth $1,603 (£1,240) and a Gucci Rajah tote bag worth $2,184 (£1,690).

Mary exuded glamour in a brown panama hat worn over her long blonde tresses, and added a splash of colour to her beige ensemble in green jeans held up by a Gucci belt worth $342 (£265).

She carried her belongings in the elegant bag and accessorised with gold bangles, rings, a watch, thick gold hooped earrings and a chunky necklace.

The 76ers came out on top by the end of the game, with 101-95, which may have been a blow to Bronx-born Mary.

The hitmaker recently starred in the Netflix comedy series The Umbrella Academy alongside Ellen Page, Tom Hopper and Cameron Britton.

The Umbrella Academy is an adaptation of the comic book series created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá and published by Dark Horse Comics.

Mary, who previously starred in the Netflix film Mudbound that earned her two Academy Award nominations, said she was drawn to the series by the character of Cha-Cha.

She told EW.com: ‘The reason why she drew me to the role was that she represented something I’ve never done, but I always wanted to do.

‘I’ve always wanted to play someone with no emotion, who didn’t care about anything, who’s just murder, murder, murder.

‘All-business, never wavering. I’ve always wanted to learn martial arts, I always wanted to shoot all different all kinds of firearms, and I did exactly that.’

She revealed during an interview on Good Morning America that she trained in martial arts for five months for the part.

The Love Is All We Need singer was also cast in the third season of MTV’s Scream series. 

The anthology program, inspired by the 1996 horror film, was rebooted with an entirely new cast for the upcoming season.

In January, Mary helped celebrate her longtime friend Taraji P Henson as the actress received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In a speech, she said: ‘You have been a total inspiration to me. We meet people in the industry and they’re not nice.

‘I’ve never had a friend that I can call while I’m on set and say, “How do I do this as an actress,” and you helped me when I needed help.’

The two starred together in Tyler Perry’s 2009 film I Can Do Bad All By Myself.
