Meghan Markle wears £900 coat to charity event – how to get the look for less

Meghan and her mother, Doria Ragland, appeared today at the launch of her new cookbook at Kensington Palace. In true Markle style the ladies ensured they looked sophisticated as they attended the event, which is in aid of those affected by Grenfell Tower tragedy.

Whilst Doria kept it simple in a beige palette, Meghan ensured to make a statement in a bold lapel coat , which would set you back a cool £909.16 from Smythe . The Duchess of Sussex paired her vibrant coat with a classic black roll neck and pleated midi skirt , which cost £200 from Misha Nonoo .

The Canadian outerwear brand Smythe , favoured by both Meghan and Kate, has been on the royal radar since Kate Middleton wore a navy single breasted blazer back in 2011, on her post wedding trip to Canada.

Meghan has also already worn the royally sought after brand on numerous occasions, including earlier this year on an engagement with her then fiancé Prince Harry, stepping out in a light camel coat.

The designer, Misha Nonoo, is a close friend of Meghan’s, and the pleated skirt is from her latest collection available online now.

Nonoo is also rumoured to have set up the newly weds on their first date, something tells us we might be seeing more of this brand…

Needless to say this Smythe coat has already sold out, but we’ve found some great high street alternatives for that Markle effect…
