NeNe Leakes blasts Wendy Williams for claims about 'quitting' RHOA

NeNe Leakes furiously hits back after her friend Wendy Williams shares private text message revealing she’s ‘quitting’ RHOA over very ‘sad’ secret issues

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes blasted her friend Wendy Williams for sharing a private text about her ‘quitting’ the reality show on Tuesday.

‘It’s been an especially difficult couple of weeks for Nene, and she was venting to her friend in private correspondence,’ NeNe’s rep told People.

‘Nothing has been confirmed or officially decided for next season.’

The 52-year-old Bravo-lebrity also posted an Instagram of herself with the caption: ‘Who said dat?!’ and the abbreviated hashtag for ‘shaking my head.’

It was moments after the 55-year-old host told her talk show audience that she was ‘looking at my phone in between commercials and NeNe texts, “I’m quitting.”‘

‘I know something about NeNe that you all will cry, be sad, feel bad for her,’ Wendy dished. ‘She’s carrying the weight of a huge thing on her shoulders.’

Williams would only say that Leakes’ secret had nothing to do with her health, her husband Gregg Leakes (who battled stage 3 colon cancer), or their 20-year-old son Brentt.

‘I’m not going to say it, she’s got to say it. In my opinion, Nene, you need this platform to explain the other part of your life. Forget arguing with them broads – you’ve got that secret and that secret is going to melt their hearts. When she shared it with me, I cried with her,’ the four-time Daytime Emmy nominee said.

‘But if she keeps carrying this burden, you know what I’m saying, you know how you carry a secret long enough…NeNe, you need that platform to explain, that’s all. I’m telling you, NeNe, don’t quit! I can’t believe I’ve come to this.’

NeNe (born Linnethia Johnson) has appeared in the Bravo reality series since its 2008 inception, aside from skipping season nine and being a ‘guest’ in season eight.

Eyebrows raised as the New York-born comedian skipped the first three episodes of the 12th season over contract negotiations.

‘I was sitting here trying to work my contract out,’ Leakes told People in November.

‘There were a lot of rumors around the time and I was really skeptical about what I was going to do. I really didn’t know what I was going to do, I really didn’t. I had one foot in and one foot out.’
