Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra were seen for the first time since welcoming their first child together via surrogate in January.

The new parents looked exhausted on Friday as they stepped out in Los Angles, both wearing masks as they walked alongside one another.

Last month, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that Nick and Priyanka’s baby girl was born 12 weeks premature and will remain in hospital until she is healthy enough to return home with her parents.

Nick, 29, was seen in a black baseball hat, with a red flannel, ripped jeans and black Converse. The actress, 39, was in a vibrant sweatsuit, sandals and a large black purse on her arm. 

On Wednesday, Priyanka made her glowing return to Instagram just weeks after their baby’s announcement. 

Priyanka took the snaps in what looked like the rear-view mirror of her car as he highlighted locks cascaded down her face. 

She captioned the images to her nearly 74million followers: ‘The light feels right,’ adding a sparkle emoji. 

She also shared another image as she rocked a pair of large, black designer sunglasses.

The couple, who married in 2018, announced the arrival of their child in a statement posted to their Instagram accounts on Friday, January 21, though they did not reveal the child’s name or gender. 

‘We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much (heart emoji),’ the couple posted in a joint statement. 

According to DailyMail.com’s insider, the A-list couple had been wanting to have a baby together for ‘quite sometime,’ but their schedules had gotten in the way of their family planning.

They eventually contacted an agency to explore their options and were connected them with a woman in SoCal who they believed was a good match.

‘Priyanka doesn’t have any fertility issues preventing her from having a baby, but she is 39 now so it’s not getting any easier,’ the source said.

‘Their busy work schedules also mean that it’s difficult for them to physically be together to conceive when she is ovulating, so some time ago they went down the surrogacy route.

‘This is the woman’s fifth surrogacy. They met her and really liked her.

‘The baby had been due in April but the surrogate ended up giving birth on Sunday, so she was very premature,’ the insider added.

The baby girl and the surrogate are currently in hospital and Nick and Priyanka are waiting for the baby to be healthy enough to move to a hospital in Los Angeles.

The source continued: ‘Priyanka had been trying to get her filming all done before the baby was due in April – but obviously this has completely thrown her plans.

‘There were rumors and speculation that the marriage was in trouble and that they might divorce, but that’s total nonsense. Nick and Priyanka are very happy together.’

The former Disney star expressed last year that he desired children during an interview with E! News, but said Priyanka’s happiness was his number one priority.

‘She is the most important piece of the puzzle, and it’s obviously something we hope happens, and god willing, it comes together,’ Nick told the site. 

‘You know, whatever is right. We’re blessed to have each other and have a full heart for the future, I say, and things are out of your control. And the foundation of a couple is strong, and you’re excited about the possibility of that.’

He added that he hoped ‘for many, or whatever that is.’   

Interestingly, Priyanka cracked an ‘expecting’ joke last year on the Jonas Brothers Family Roast which got a reaction out of Nick.

‘If you don’t know, we are the only couple who doesn’t have kids yet. Which is why I’m excited to make this announcement. Sorry babe. Nick and I are expecting… to get drunk tonight and to sleep in tomorrow!’

Nick appeared nervous during the momentary pause in her joke, which Priyanka picked up on.   

‘Your face was really funny when I said that,’ she said to her husband.

‘Yeah, I was a bit concerned,’ he replied.
