Our Yorkshire Farm’s Clive Owen QUITS spin-off show because son Reuben ‘doesn’t want me on his hands’… after taking the blame for his split from wife Amanda
Clive Owen has announced he has stepped down from his spin-off show, Beyond The Yorkshire Farm.
The TV farmer, 68, starred in the breakout series with his son Reuben, 19, after his 22-year marriage to wife Amanda, 48, collapsed.
The show, which aired on Channel 5, began broadcasting late last year after Our Yorkshire Farm was cancelled due to their split.
In an interview with Christine Lampard on Lorraine on Thursday, Clive revealed he has no plans to do more series and talked candidly about what led to the breakdown of his marriage.
Clive said he has quit the show because his son ‘doesn’t want me on his hands’ and thinks Reuben will ‘go on on his own’.

‘We’ve done this thing with Reuben, it’s been great fun working with him. Cos he’s crazy too, so we’ve had a grand time doing it,’ Clive said.
‘I think I’m stepping back from that now. I think he’s gonna go on on his own. Because he doesn’t want me on his hands.
‘So, I have no plans to do anything in particular, but you never know, someone might be daft enough to ask me.’
It will be a disappointment for fans as the show attracted 1.8million viewers – a great deal more than Amanda’s show on More 4 which had on average around 600,000 tuning in.
Channel 5 have not yet announced any plans for a series renewal. Mail Online has contacted Channel 5 for comment.
Elsewhere in the interview, Clive admitted he takes full blame for his split from wife Amanda due to his drinking and bad behaviour.
The Our Yorkshire Farm star confessed he ‘played a massive part’ in his break-up from the TV star last year, and ‘made a right mess of things’, days after it was revealed Amanda was having an affair with businessman Robert Davies.
He said: ‘I sadly made a right mess of things basically. I had a massive part to play in the relationship ending.

‘It’s a tough time for Amanda now and I think it’s only right, because I don’t do social media, to speak out.
‘We filmed Our Yorkshire Farm, people loved it and it was an opportunity to make something as a family. That was what drove her. It was amazing and very successful but I handled it very badly.
‘It was such a change in our lives and I sadly made a right mess of things basically. I had a massive part to play in the relationship ending.
Adding he felt a wrong sense of jealousy over the fame of their show, and Amanda’s commitment to it, he continued: ‘I was ranting and raving and drinking and carrying on. I don’t know – jealousy. It was taking her away’.
He added: ‘It seemed to eat away at me and I handled it badly and I behaved badly towards her. I should have been supportive… It’s been really upsetting, Amanda’s having a tough time at the moment.
‘I just feel I can’t sit back. I have to say something in her defence, she’s a remarkable woman. We just got to the point where we couldn’t be together anymore.’

Emerging: Amanda was believed to have been having an affair for five years with 71-year-old businessman Robert Davies (pictured together late last month)
‘We were under pressure, it is crazy and it makes you look at life not as well,’ he added.
‘It got to a point where we couldn’t get along at all so we parted. It’s very sad but that’s how it is.
‘We’re in business together and we farm together so we spend a lot of time together.
‘The children are amazing, and probably because of her. So what happens is we work together, look after the kids together, she feeds us all and so I think I really believe the kids are great and fine. And there’s so many of them.’
‘I have no plans to do anything, but you never know. And the same with Amanda, she’s busy writing. I’d love people just to leave her alone. She’s an amazing woman.’
Following the segment, many took to Twitter to share their praise for Clive, with one writing: ‘What an honest and vulnerable interview. Well done Clive for owning the situation and protecting your family’.
