Paddy McGuinness landed at London Heathrow on Sunday night and returned home to his family after it was revealed his 11-year marriage is in trouble.

The Top Gear presenter jetted to Thailand to film scenes for the next series of his motoring show, but on Sunday he was back to face the music after his wife Christine broke her silence on rumours their 11-year marriage is on the rocks.

Paddy kept a low profile as he pushed his luggage through Heathrow after earlier promising his wife ‘cuddles’ in a comment posted on her family Instagram photo.

Paddy, 48, wearing a blue sweater, baseball cap and face mask, was laden down with bags of duty free from Thailand, with cuddly toys for his three children seen in the bags.

The presenter revealed on Instagram that he was happy to be back home after the work trip, writing alongside a video taken during his flight:

‘I is back baby! 11 hour flight but really enjoyed filming in Thailand, beautiful country. Yet no matter where I travel it’s always good to get home! Cup of tea, clean bedding and the kids are off skoo. ❤️ #home #sunday #travel #weekend #workworkyworkwork.’

He also added a comment to Christine’s family photo showing the former model in a bikini as she played with their kids in a paddling pool. ‘Cuddles tomorrow!!’ he wrote along with two love hearts.

On Saturday Christine revealed that she and her husband are going through a ‘very, very difficult time’, after intense speculation that the couple’s marriage was on the rocks.

Describing her mental state as ‘all over the place’ in a new interview, the 34-year-old shared that she is ‘not going to put up with things from Paddy that she might’ve in the past.’

The week before Christine had set tongues wagging that there could be trouble in her marriage after jetting off on a girls holiday with her pal Chelcee Grimes, and later shared a slew of cryptic posts

Talking openly to The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine, Christine admitted: ‘I’m feeling really quite raw and all over the place. What I might have put up with in the past, I probably wouldn’t put up with now, and the same for him.

‘I can’t deny we are having a very, very difficult time,’ she shared.

But keen to clear her own name, the former model added that she wasn’t the one who caused the difficult situation.

‘It’s just — we’ve been together 15 years, 11 years married: we are gonna have ups and downs — but this situation at the minute — I don’t want to go into it too much but I will just say that I didn’t cause this situation,’ she continued.

Brushing off the situation as ‘ups and downs’, Christine added that ‘the family bond will always be there no matter what – as she explained that the pair met when she was teenager.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Paddy McGuinness for comment.

It comes after a wave of rumours that the pair are on the rocks in recent months, as they holidayed abroad separately just last month before his trip to Thailand.

And after her recent appearance on ITV’s The Games, fans were quick to notice a lack of public support from Paddy, with the pair also being snapped in what appeared to be a tense conversation.

Last week, she appeared to address the rumours via social media, reposting a range of quotes about love and trust.

In the posts, the TV personality said although she has been ‘the most broken version’ of herself at times, she has also been the ‘strongest’.

Christine also shared a series of cryptic motivational quotes about ‘making positive choices’ and ‘completely re-creating yourself’.

She wrote on Instagram: ‘Regarding the press… There is only one thing I want to make clear right now… I didn’t put us in this situation.’

While a source recently said to The Mirror that: ‘It’s been a very tough time of late. The problems are very much current.’

Explaining that they met while she was a teenager, Christine added: ‘What I might have put up with in the past, I probably wouldn’t put up with now, and the same for him’

They also added that the couple are ‘trying to work through various issues.’

Paddy and Christine are parents to their three children; twins Leo and Penelope, nine, and Felicity, six – who all have Autism.

They have been together for 15 years, after meeting while Christine was modelling in a fashion show at Liverpool Tennis Tournament, before tying the knot in 2011.

But it’s not the first time they have hit headlines for their marriage, with Paddy being snapped on a boozy night out with Nicole Appleton back in 2018.

Admitting that the pictures made her ‘sick’ and felt like a ‘a heartbroken moment’, Christine has shared that she and Paddy no longer discuss the snaps and just ‘got on with married life’.
