However, Paul Hollywood was pictured hard at work during a night shift as a pizza chef at his girlfriend Melissa Spalding’s, 37, Kent pub on Tuesday.

The GBBO judge, 55, worked up a sweat in a white jacket and a black striped apron as he worked with his team while moonlighting at Smarden’s The Chequers Inn.

An onlooker told The Sun: ‘The restaurant was busy and Paul seemed to be a hit with customers.’

The TV personality was announced as the ‘night chef’ at Smarden’s Chequers Inn in a since-deleted Facebook post, according to the tabloid.

His younger partner’s parents, who own the hotspot, wrote: ‘Delicious authentic Italian pizzas cooked fresh to order!! Our chefs for the night will be Scott Spalding and Paul Hollywood.’

With Scott reported as being Melissa’s brother, it seems the pair have bonded over the £13 masterpiece – which boasts tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto, Parmesan and cream.

A source told The Sun: ‘Pubs are doing all they can to get punters’ bums on seats.

‘While most landladies might have to shell out for a star chef, Melissa can just call her boyfriend. She and her parents hope he will get some business through the door.’

Paul’s representatives have been contacted for further comment by MailOnline.  

It comes after Paul was said to be living with his new girlfriend in the countryside home that he bought with his former lover. 

Friends say the couple – who began dating after Paul’s split from Summer Monteys-Fullam in August 2019 – are ‘madly in love’ and recently enjoyed a sunshine break abroad.

A friend said: ‘Paul and Melissa spent a lot of time together in lockdown. They bubbled up together and stayed at his house. Now she is there for good. They are delightfully happy, though it must be a bit strange given it was bought for Summer.’

The baker and TV star met Melissa at The Chequers Inn where he was a regular.

He met Summer in 2018 at another nearby pub.

Last year, Paul officially removed his ex-wife from her positions as director and secretary of his multi-million-pound company.

The chef and his former partner Alex, 56, split in 2017, with their 20-year marriage ending in divorce in 2019.
