Perrie Edwards reveals Geri Horner sent her flowers and a handwritten note after Little Mix’s Spice Girls shout out while accepting their historic Best British Group win at BRITs

Perrie Edwards revealed Geri Horner sent her flowers and a handwritten note, thanking her for giving a shout out to the Spice Girls during Little Mix’s BRIT win.

The singer, 27, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 29, and Jade Thirlwall, 28, made history on Tuesday night as they became the first girl band ever to be awarded best British Group. 

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Perrie showed off some of the congratulatory letters and bouquets gifted to her, including a very special note from Ginger Spice.

Geri wrote: ‘Dear Perrie, Congratulations. Thank you for the shout out. Love, Geri xxx [Spice Girls].

Perrie captioned the snap: ‘Thank you so much @TheRealGeriHalliwell for the beautiful flowers’ and tagged other companies who had also sent bouquets.  

It comes after the 48-year-old took to Instagram to mark the poignant moment of a girl band finally being awarded the trophy. Geri penned: ‘Girl Power at the @brits last night. Thanks and congratulations @littlemix’.

Little Mix had been nominated three times for best British Group and shared what it meant for them, their former band member Jesy Nelson, and past girl bands during their acceptance speech.   

Leigh-Anne said: ‘We have been together for 10 years it’s been the best years of our life, we’ve had so much fun we’ve made so many memories, we want to thank your incredible fans, Jesy.

‘It’s not easy being a female in the UK pop industry, we’ve seen the misogyny, dominance and lack of diversity, we’re proud of how we’re stuck together and we’re using our voices more than ever.’

It’s been a big week for Perrie, with both her and Leigh-Anne debuting their baby bumps on the red carpet after announcing they were both pregnant.  

The singer and her boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 27, announced they are expecting their first child together on Monday as they shared a series of stunning black and white images.

In one of the snaps, Perrie displayed her growing baby bump in a black lace bra while tenderly touching her footballer beau’s face.

Alongside photos the former X Factor star wrote on Instagram: ‘So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate.  

‘Me + Him = You [world and heart emojis] We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox! (sic)’ 

Alex also shared the news with his Instagram followers by posting the same images and wrote: ‘Anyone got any advice on how to change nappies? So grateful and excited to become a dad. Bring on the sleepless nights!’ 

Leigh-Anne announced her own pregnancy on May 4, just a week before Perrie shared her news with the world.

In her announcement snaps, Leigh-Anne showed off her bump in a trio of images with fiancé Andre Gray, writing alongside them: ‘We’ve dreamed about this moment for so long and we can’t believe the dream is finally coming true… we can’t wait to meet you.’
