The 34-year-old mother-of-three – who boasts 54.9M social media followers – announced: ‘ATL bred I’m #Rooted. Shot this video 2 days before delivery, Covid style! Out now!’

In fact, Ciara (born Ciara Princess Harris) ‘approved the final cut of the video’ to director Annie Bercy while still in labor with her third child.

‘This song allowed me to celebrate the Black joy. It allowed me also to celebrate our uniqueness, our strength, everything that we need to survive and thrive is rooted in us,’ the Texan-born R&B songstress explained to ET on Wednesday.

‘You’re never limited by your gender or the color of your skin. That’s how I live my life, and so it’s important to me to continue to express that. And to continue to encourage not just my fans, but particularly our community, the Black community [to do the same].’

In the video, Ciara rocked a classic Afro wig by César DeLeön Ramîrez and her make-up was applied by Yolonda Frederick.

Stylist Danasia Sutton dressed the Git Up singer in several bump-showcasing ensembles.

Rooted prominently features activists sporting T-shirts of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, whose murders by police fueled the Black Lives Matter movement and historic national marches.

‘To all my young Rosa’s and Young Luther’s keep marching. Don’t stop fighting for what you believe in,’ Ciara wrote in a post-video message.

‘To all my Black queens and kings, continue to plant and spread seeds of love, hope and pride in your tribe. Everything you need to survive and thrive is rooted in you. Stay rooted.’

A portion of the proceeds of the Black power track will support the philantropic organization, Grantmakers for Girls of Color.
