Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Just Visited the Queen in England for the First Time in Two (!!) Years

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just took a quick lil trip to London and visited the Queen and Prince Charles, Harry’s dad. But the trip wasn’t necessarily booked and planned for the purposes to see the estranged family, it was more of a “hey, let’s go see my family real quick while we have this layover, k?” type of deal. TBH, haven’t we all been there though? Who knew royals could be so ~relatable~?

According to TMZ, Meghan and Harry flew first class commercial from Los Angeles to London on Tuesday with their ultimate destination being the Netherlands for this year’s Invictus Games. The outlet reports they spent time with the Queen and Prince Charles on Thursday.

But still, the visit was a much bigger thing than you dealing with your wonky uncle at the family gathering (sry bb) because this was the first time in two (!!) years that Meghan and Harry visited England together since removing themselves as working members of the British royal family. Apparently Meghan and Harry had a meeting with the Queen and Prince Charles to “attempt to smooth things over since they stepped down as senior members of the royals in 2020.”

Harper’s Bazaar‘s royals editor Omid Scobie confirmed the news in a tweet as well, saying: “A Sussex spokesperson confirms that, prior to arriving in The Hague for @InvictusGamesNL, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stopped in the UK this morning to visit the Queen. It was a Windsor visit that their team recently revealed the duke “hoped to do”.”

𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: A Sussex spokesperson confirms that, prior to arriving in The Hague for @InvictusGamesNL, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stopped in the UK this morning to visit the Queen. It was a Windsor visit that their team recently revealed the duke “hoped to do”.

Given the Queen’s recent shaky health news, it makes sense that Prince Harry would want to take advantage of the time abroad and see his grandmother. And because we know this is the news you really care about: No, Meghan and Harry’s adorable bbs Archie and Lilibet did not come along for the visit, which isn’t shocking since Harry recently said that he doesn’t exactly feel safe bringing the kids to the country without serious security.

Here’s to hoping some peace was made in the royal family circle!
