The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby has shared the story behind her marriage to her step grandfather, Robert Cosby Sr.

The couple married 21 years ago following the death of Mary’s grandmother, who wanted her husband to marry one of her ‘girls’ in the event something should happen to her.

‘We were kind of a, I would say, an arranged marriage,’ Mary said in a teaser obtained by People. ‘It was kind of in my grandma’s will for us to marry.’

Robert said his late wife was behind the marriage.

‘She said, “If anything ever happens to me, Bobby, I want you to marry one of my girls because they’ll look out for you,”‘ he recalled.

‘We’re blessed to this day because of it,’ Mary added.

Now the couple share a teenage son and are approaching their 22nd anniversary.

Not surprisingly, Mary’s costars found the arrangement ‘weird.’

‘I don’t give a sh*t if it’s your biological grandpa, step grandpa, sh*t is weird, okay!?’ said Jen Shah.

‘I love my grandpas but I would not want to be married to them,’ said new housewife Heather Gay.

‘And I’m Mormon and we have a lot of latitude for a lot of weird sh*t,’ she joked.

None of this bothered Mary, however.

‘They’ll get over it,’ the new reality star insisted. ‘Just digest it.’

Mary was 22 at the time her grandmother died in 1997, and was reportedly ‘forced’ to marry 42-year-old Robert, according to Page Six.

Mary is among the six new women starring on the brand new Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City.
