Good Morning Britain host Richard Bacon shocks viewers and they brand him ‘unprofessional’ after he ditches his trousers while presenting the show

Good Morning Britain viewers were shocked on Friday over ‘unprofessional’ Richard Bacon’s presenting attire.

The host, 46, was unfazed by the chilly December temperatures, wearing shorts and slippers as he appeared on the programme alongside Kate Garraway, 54.

Kate joked how she had gone to ‘all this effort’ in matching shoes, meanwhile Richard had ‘let the side down.’

Richard quipped: ‘I thought it was Christmas Day Kate, I never wear trousers on at Christmas!’

His outfit choice received a mixed bag of reviews, with some branding it ‘hilarious’, while others thought it was ‘unprofessional.’ 

Meanwhile others noted his ‘five sizes too small hotel slippers.’

Later on, Richard returned to reveal that he’d traded his shorts for a smart pair of trousers.

He said: ‘I can confirm the shorts are gone, I am wearing trousers, with Christmas socks and all sorts.’  

Kate added: ‘Go on then Richard go and show them you can showcase the QR code respectably.’

Now donning a full-length pair, the TV presenter got up from his chair to show viewers how easy it was to pledge time using the GMB app.

At the start of December, the weekday morning programme kickstarted its annual volunteering campaign, which aims to support those suffering from loneliness and mental health during the festive period.
