‘You might be the best looking couple in the world,’ Jimmy told them after they sat down. Jimmy asked them if they liked doing interviews together.
‘Yes, it’s been fun,’ said Russell. ‘This book is everything to us because my dad used to say ”why not you.” So to be able to, I know Ciara’s parents too, my Mom.’
Jimmy asked if both of their parents said that.
Ciara said that Russell’s dad did literally said it to him but ‘for me it was more so that energy of why not you being able to do whatever you want to do and dream of like no dream is too big. And that’s how my house was.’
‘We share that same passion and connection of why not you,’ said Ciara.

Jimmy said that it was a powerful little phrase for Russell’s dad to keep saying to him and joked the closest his dad got to that was saying, ‘Why are you always putting your hands on the walls?’
Russell and Ciara laughed.
‘I would hop in the car with my dad and he would always tell me ”why not you, why not you win a Super Bowl, why don’t you play pro football, baseball, to graduate early”,’ said Russell. ‘I think the reality, Jimmy, is that’s the fundamental question we all have to ask ourselves in life subconsciously or consciously.’

‘I’m asking all kinds of questions, I’m inquisitive, and she’s asking me all kinds of questions,’ Russell said. ‘But one of the things we talked about is if you had dreams of what you wanted to do in life one day how would you want to give back and Ciara said she wants to open a school.’
‘We did that with Why Not You Academy,’ Russel said while adding they also created the children’s book.
