Scott Disick says Kourtney Kardashian's relationship let him 'move on'

Scott Disick reveals his ex Kourtney Kardashian’s relationship with Travis Barker has allowed him to finally ‘be able to move on’ from their 2015 split

Scott Disick admitted that his former partner Kourtney Kardashian’s relationship with Travis Barker has helped him to finally ‘be able to move on’ from their relationship in the upcoming season premiere of The Kardashians.

Disick, 38, says in the episode of the Hulu reality series — which airs April 14 — that seeing his ex, 42, with the Blink-182 drummer, 46, made it clear that she was happy and ‘in a real thing.’

The Talentless founder also said he had false hope for a reconciliation because members of the Kardashian–Jenner clan led him to believe that they might ‘get back together one day.’

On the plus side, the new relationship made a path forward easier for Scott to see.

‘For the first time in my life it’s finally starting to change. Now that Kourtney’s got her life with Travis, as hard as it is, it does give me a place to finally be able to move on,’ he said on the episode.

He also noted his proclivity for dating women much younger than himself or his former partner.

‘If I want to find someone real and serious that I’d want to spent my life with, it would have to be somebody … [in their] upper 20s. Not over 30 … whatever … 30, whatever it is. If I love somebody, doesn’t matter their age,’ he continued.

Despite not longer having Kourtney in his life romantically, Scott was happy to see his ex happy.

‘I felt like I did so much wrong to her over so many years, I felt super guilty and felt like if she ever needed me for any reason whatsoever, I’d be there to make it up to her,’ he said.

‘Kourtney has [the] right to despise me and the way I treated her, because it was horrible.’

But He also said Kourtney and Travis’ relationship, which saw them tie the knot in Las Vegas the night of the Grammy Awards, had him ‘feeling left out,’ and he admitted that it felt ‘super hurtful’ after being excluded from family gatherings while having no other family to turn to

After he learned the Kardashians had thrown a BBQ but neglected to invite him, he confessed he would prefer being in the company of his ex Kourtney, her new beau Travis Barker, and the rest of the family ‘than not at all.’

‘Feeling left out and not being told anything is super hurtful, especially when I don’t have another family to go to,’ he said.

Scott admitted he had always harbored hope they would get back together and was even assured by friends and family that a reconciliation was in the future.

‘I always had her friends or our family in my ear kind of like, “Don’t worry honey, eventually you guys will figure it out and you’ll get back together one day.” My foot was always halfway in the door,’ Scott explained.

He described having Kourtney go from ‘best friend’ to co-parent was ‘probably one of the most difficult things in my life.’

The Kardashians also noticed how Scott’s exclusion from the BBQ were his worst fears taking shape in real life.

‘It’s everything he was always afraid of, “I don’t have any family, you’re my only family,” and now it’s coming true,’ Kim Kardashian noted.

But Kourtney was less forgiving: ‘Hold on guys, Scott and I have been broken up for seven years and I gave him 10 years before that. So why is everyone making such a big deal about this?’ she said to cameras. ‘Let’s just not hate on a girl who finally knows what she deserves.’

Over lunch with her sisters Kim and Khloe, Kourtney talked about the BBQ drama: ‘He asked me about it and said, “Did you not want me at this BBQ?” And I was like, “Your actions need to match up with you wanting to be a part of this, act like it.”‘

She also revealed she had branded Scott ‘despicable’ in a furious text message sent to him after his DMs blasting her PDA with fiancé Travis were leaked by her ex-boyfriend Younes Bendjima.

Kourtney added that due to Scott’s close ties to the Kardashian family, he’s always ‘got away with bad behavior,’ but in the wake of her Vegas wedding to Travis, it’s ‘not going to continue.’

Knowing her worth: Kourtney was less forgiving about the Scott BBQ drama, saying, ‘Let’s just not hate on a girl who finally knows what she deserves’

Kourtney explained she contacted Younes after he leaked the messages with Scott, lamenting how he had reaching out to her former flame.

She said: ‘When I was in Italy with Travis [Barker] on our summer vacation, I woke up to a text from Scott saying, ”I am so sorry. I DMed your ex-boyfriend who I can’t stand.”

‘He sent me a screenshot of it and said he posted it on his [Instagram] Story. He was asking if he could apologize to Travis and then I wrote him saying this is “despicable.”‘

‘Your actions need to match up with you wanting to be a part of this and act like it. Then I was like, ”That’s not really the vibe. Don’t go DMing my ex-boyfriend.”

Kourtney added: ‘For so many years Scott’s always gotten away with bad behavior and still been invited. I don’t think that’s going to continue.’

‘Me kissing the love of my life is not anything bad. I don’t want it to be negative,’ she added.

‘I will continue to live my life and pretend no one is watching,’ she added.

Khloé weighed in on the matter earlier in the episode: ‘I know how much Travis and Kourtney love each other and that has to be hard for anyone to process, especially when everything’s so public.’

Scott infamously blasted photos of Kourtney and Travis making out in Italy in a message he sent to Kourtney’s ex Younes last year.

‘Yo is this chick ok!??? Broo like what is this. In the middle of Italy,’ Scott wrote as he sent a photo of Kourtney kissing and straddling the Blink-182 drummer on an inflatable boat in Italy.

Bendjima, 28, responded back: ‘Doesn’t matter to me as long as shes happy. PS: I aint your bro.’

Just days after Travis proposed to Kourtney in October 2021, an insider told Page Six that Scott was ‘going crazy.’

What happens in Vegas: Kourtney and Travis tied the knot without a marriage license in Las Vegas last week

‘He’s going to go off the deep end. It’s really bad. It’s about to get dark,’ the source said.

In a more recent update, things appeared to have improved between the exes.

‘Scott and Kourtney’s co-parenting routine is very well balanced and things have been cordial between them,’ a source told Entertainment Tonight last month.

‘He hasn’t entirely come to terms with Kourtney and Travis’ relationship, but he has definitely warmed up to accepting the fact that Kourtney is marrying Travis.

‘There are moments of jealousy and animosity, but at the end of the day, he wants her to be happy.’

The Kardashians will debut on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK on April 14.
