Last night, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended a gala performance of Hamilton to benefit Sentebale, Harry’s charity with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho that benefits children affected by HIV in Botswana and Lesotho. According to Harry, the evening raised “a huge amount of money” for the cause, as the audience took in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s epic musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton. Miranda himself attended the evening and also addressed the audience, and the Duchess of Sussex discussed the character of King George III with him. She also confided to one cast member that Prince Harry sings the soundtrack all the time, a fact he corroborated by singing the opening lines of George III’s songs in the show while addressing the audience post-performance.
