‘Sending my love and prayers to everyone affected by the fires,’ she began.

‘Tonight’s wind is going to be brutal. Please Stay safe.’

The image appeared to be of Sofia in bed and she added a broken heart emoji and a sticker of a girl partaking in meditation.

By Wednesday morning, Sofia was closer than ever to flames as the Easy Fire broke out in Simi Valley, just across the valley from her home.

Too far? Monday saw the beauty took to her social media account to share a photo of her ensemble but received backlash for her ‘insensitive’ comment about the current wildfires

Not great: When Sofia woke up on Wednesday morning, she turned on the news to see fire coverage from the local ABC7 network

Sofia’s sweet message comes after she took to her social media account on Monday evening to share a photo in a classy ensemble.

‘Santa Ana winds – messy bun,’ she captioned.

And while most of her fans left supportive and gushing comments, others found her caption ‘insensitive’ to the Getty fires that are currently taking place.

‘200,000 people evacuated and 2 million people without power but okay go ahead flex?? could u be any more insensitive,’ commented one.

Scary: The model panned across the scene from her backyard which showed a valley full of smoke from the nearby fire

Not impressed: Another took to Twitter to pen: ‘Sofia Richie talking about how the Santa Anas are great for her hair might be the most tone-deaf things I’ve ever seen!!!’

And despite the outrage, the daughter of Lionel Richie kept the post and the caption up on her feed.

The fires are still burning with the Santa Ana ‘Devil winds’ of up to 70 mph expected to hit southern California on Wednesday.

The Getty fire is still burning with the Los Angeles Fire Department reporting on Tuesday that it was sparked when a tree branch fell on top of a power line and ignited nearby bush.

Three people have died in the devastating fires this week.
