Strictly viewers rave over Nikita's dance -off striptease

‘His shirt was doing a better dance than Dan’: Strictly viewers rave over Tilly Ramsay’s partner Nikita’s dance -off striptease… as her father Gordon looks on

Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin may have left Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday night but they made sure they exited in style.

YouTuber Tilly and her pro partner were voted off the BBC show on Sunday after finding themselves in the dance off against Rhys Stephenson and his partner Nancy Xu.

The duo went all out in their dance-off routine, with Nikita delighting viewers by whipping off his shirt.

Saucy: Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin may have left Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday night but they made sure they exited in style as the pro dancer ripped off his shirt mid dance

The energetic samba saw the pro dancer’s shirt come unbuttoned, leading him to decide to strip off mid-performance.

The Ukrainian pro’s strip tease didn’t go quite to plan though, as the shirt ended up getting caught in his microphone wire and dangling between the couple for the rest of the dance.

Viewers were in hysterics at the move, with one dubbing it ‘one of the most hilarious moments I’ve ever seen.’

Another fan joked that ‘Nikita’s shirt was doing a better dance than Dan’, in reference to BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker who has remained in the competition despite his low scores.

Others pointed out Nikita’s decision to strip was bold as Tilly’s dad, fiery chef Gordon Ramsay, was sat in the studio audience.

‘The camera panning to gordon after Nikita whipped off his shirt was all I needed,’ giggled one tweeter.

‘I mean absolutely fair play to Nikita. Taking his shirt off to dance with Tilly while her dad was in the audience? Absolutely iconic levels of chaos.’

Last month, Gordon took a jibe at Nikita for having his shirt undone during another routine, quipping: ‘One little issue, Nikita, you and I have been talking for many months now but, you know Frankenstein always has his top button done up! Come on man, get rid of the six pack! It’s a family show!’

Tilly and Nikita found themselves in the dreaded dance off after they scored 30 for their Samba to Levitating by Dua Lipa and placed bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday night.

CBBC presenter Rhys meanwhile scored 35 for his Waltz with partner Nancy Xu to You Light Up My Life by Whitney Houston.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts:

Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Rhys and Nancy. Craig said: ‘Well on Saturday night, I gave both couples seven, so in my head they are equal.

‘The dance off proved that they both improved enormously, although one was quite flashy and semi naked. But, I’d like to save Rhys and Nancy.’

Cynthia Erivo chose to save Rhys and Nancy. Cynthia said: ‘This is really, really difficult. Both couples did beautifully but it just came down to the tiny details like the finish of the footwork. I’d like to save Rhys and Nancy.’

Emotional: Chef Gordon, 55, couldn’t hold back the tears as his 20-year-old daughter waved goodbye to the competition alongside pro partner Nikita

Nerves: YouTuber Tilly landed in the dreaded dance off with presenter Rhys Stephenson, 28, who had scored 35 for his Waltz with partner Nancy Xu

Anton Du Beke chose to save Rhys and Nancy. Anton said: ‘It was a terrific dance off again. Tilly, as we’ve come to expect, put in a great performance. She’s an absolute fighter. But with slightly better technique and better quality, I’d like to save Rhys and Nancy.’

With three votes to Rhys and Nancy, it meant they had won the majority vote, and Tilly and Nikita would be leaving the competition regardless, however Head Judge Shirley Ballas said she would also have decided to save Rhys and Nancy.

Shirley said: ‘I would agree and I would have saved Rhys and Nancy.’

When asked by Tess about their time on the show, Tilly said: ‘I’d just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has made this an amazing, positive journey for me. From everyone here to backstage, wardrobe, makeup and camera crew.

‘It’s just been the most extraordinary time. I found out something about myself that I didn’t know I could do, I didn’t know I could dance and have fun like this.

She added: ‘So a massive thank you and, obviously, a huge thank you to Nikita who has guided me out of my shell and has just made this the most amazing experience.’

When asked for her message to Nikita, Tilly said: ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you. It’s just been amazing. I really meant it when I said I made a best friend for life. You’ve just been incredible. Thank you for the best couple of weeks.’

Goodbye: Nikita was then asked if he had any words for Tilly and said: ‘I’m the most emotional person so I hope I don’t cry’

Gordon Ramsay couldn’t hold back the tears on Saturday night at Tilly’s performance.

This was not the first instance the high profile chef, 55, has welled up watching his daughter take to the Strictly dancefloor.

Fans of the dance competition admired the restaurateur for displaying his emotions and one described the moment as ‘exactly what fatherhood should be.’

Last week, Tilly and Nikita topped the leaderboard with a perfect score of 40 points following their Couple’s Choice dance to Revolting Children from Matilda.

They left the judges and audience on their feet following their perfectly executed and energetic performance, which comes after the pair previously landed in the dance-off two weeks in a row.

The remaining couples will take to the dancefloor in the Strictly Come Dancing quarter finals on Saturday December 4 at 6:40pm, with the results show on Sunday 5th December at 7:20pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
