Strictly winner Ellie Leach reveals the VERY low-key way she celebrated her victory while partner and rumoured boyfriend Vito Coppola admits he wanted to ‘eat all day’ after finale

Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach has revealed the very low-key way she celebrated her victory after Saturday night’s finale: spending all day in bed. 

The former Coronation Street actress, 22, became the show’s youngest ever winner after beating rivals Bobby Brazier and Layton Williams with her dance partner and rumoured boyfriend Vito Coppola, 31. 

On Monday, Ellie appeared on This Morning to discuss her win, saying: ‘I feel like it’s never going to feel real. Yesterday I was like, what is going on, and laid in bed all day and went for tea with my family’. 

Italian dance partner Vito admitted that he ‘wanted to eat the whole day’ – which Ellie pointed out was not out of the ordinary. 

Also appearing on the magazine show was Sam Thompson, who won I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here earlier this month, as he spoke about his own win – branding it ‘the most amazing moment I have ever experienced’.

During Saturday’s Strictly finale, Ellie was spotted whispering to Vito moments after their win as they lifted the glitterball trophy together. 

After Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced they were the winners, the soap star immediately broke down in happy tears. She proudly gushed under her breath to Vito: ‘This is for you.’ 

The professional dancer was nearly lost for words, until he responded: ‘I mean this is like the cherry on the cake, all the bruises and blisters, you have been so amazing, you are Strictly.

‘You represent Strictly. You are the diamond, you are shining.’

‘It’s been a life-changing opportunity and I’ve had the time of my life dancing with Vito every week. It has been so special and to be able to do it with such a great teacher has made it an experience I will never forget.

‘Thank you so much for that, Vito, and thank you for finding the dancer in me. We couldn’t have won without the voting public, so a huge thank you to everyone at home who picked up the phone for us, we appreciate every single one of you!

The pair had impressed throughout the final after performing the Pasa Doble, showdance and finally the American Smooth (pictured)

‘Finally, a big congratulations to all the finalists and all the 2023 cast, who are incredible and came alongside this journey with me.’ 

Vito added: ‘This is unbelievable, thank you so much to everyone who voted for us, we love you and it means the world to us! Ellie, my Lulu, I am so so proud of you…

‘I have seen how hard you have worked, the dedication and determination you have shown and how much you have grown as a person these past three months. 

‘We’ve had the best time dancing together, and I’ve enjoyed every second of it! Thank you for being the best dance partner and thank you to everyone who has supported us each week and voted for us!’

Ellie and Vito, who are rumoured to be dating, were both gobsmacked when their names were announced with the soap star’s family breaking down in tears as they watched from the studio audience.

‘I actually, genuinely cannot believe this,’ a stunned Ellie muttered before exclaiming that this was the first time she had ever seen Vito cry.

They raised the Glitterball trophy as confetti fell from the ceiling and they were lifted on to the shoulders of their competitors.

The pair had impressed throughout the final after performing the Pasa Doble, a show dance and finally an American Smooth.

The evening was not exactly smooth sailing for the pair after they made a few mistakes and fumbled a lift during their showdance (pictured)
