The actress, 51, revealed she was constantly fighting ‘hormonal battles’ during her marriage and believes she ‘wasn’t the best version of herself’.

The former EastEnders star spoke to Gabby Logan on The Mid-Point Podcast about reaching a point in her life with Tom, 30, where she is ‘comfortable and really happy’.

‘So I feel like I was either pregnant, trying to get pregnant, just post-pregnancy for a lot of that marriage. So I wouldn’t say that I was the best version of myself.’

The mother of two, who has been dating Tom for four years, admitted that while she believes she would be okay alone, her current relationship only enhances her life.

She said: ‘I really have never felt sexier, and I think that’s because [Tom] really gets that about me, that I’m in a stage in my life where I’m really comfortable and I’m really happy. And I adore him, we have a wonderful time.

‘But if he wasn’t around, I wouldn’t be in the corner, on the floor, sliding down walls, crying. I would still have my complete life and he just enhances that, and that’s what’s lovely.’

Tamzin and her ex-husband, who share children Florence, 13, and Marnie, nine, split when it was revealed he had cheated on her with Lost actress Emilie de Ravin.

The TV veteran, who is currently starring in Wim Hoff’s Freeze the Fear,  went on to discuss how she no longer ‘strives to be relevant’ after years on primetime television.

She said: ‘I don’t feel like it’s important to be relevant or at the forefront of drama or television.

‘I feel like I’m at a place where I’m in my own skin, very happy.

‘The gratitude that I feel for even coming this far in this industry is so huge and I feel like yes, I know I’ve worked hard but I’ve also had luck. I don’t feel like this industry owes me.’

Tazmin also admitted she refuses to restrict her diet in order to fit a role, saying: ‘I have a bit of an adverse reaction to it.

‘Because… on television and in film, yes, people look in proportion, but if you saw those people in real life… the head is big and they are really tiny.’
