Taylor Swift posts 'I Voted' sticker after making her 'voice heard'

Taylor Swift urges fans to make their ‘voice heard’ at the ballots after voting in Nashville as her Eras Tour continues to stimulate local economies

Taylor Swift is out there making changes in important ways.

The Lavender Haze singer, 33, took to social media to urge her fans to vote and make their voices heard. 

She posted a photo on her official Instagram of herself in a grey hoodie and sunglasses holding up an ‘I Voted Today’ sticker.

The Speak Now hitmaker captioned the post: ‘Hi Nashville! Early voting for our city officials and some statewide seats begins today. 

‘We have the opportunity to choose those who will represent us for the next four years. I voted today and I urge each and every one of you to do the same and make your voice heard.’

She wrapped her post up with a link to more information on early voting in areas across the country. 

Swift has been vocal about politics in recent years after receiving criticism for not saying anything about who she supported in the 2016 presidential election.

And, voting isn’t the only thing the All Too Well singer is doing to make positive changes.

Her Eras Tour is so wildly successful that the Federal Reserve in Philadelphia released a report revealing the biggest nights in hotel revenues since the COVID-19 pandemic started happened when Swift rolled into town.

‘Despite the slowing recovery in tourism in the region overall, one contact highlighted that May was the strongest month for hotel revenue in Philadelphia since the onset of the pandemic, in large part due to an influx of guests for the Taylor Swift concerts in the city,’ officials wrote on Wednesday in their Beige Book. 

And it just isn’t the City of Brotherly love isn’t the only location seeing an economic surge due to Swifties.

NBC News reported that when the Eras tour hit Cincinnati on June 30 and July 1, her fans brought more than $2.6 million in revenue to hotels near the venue and $5.3 million more to hotels around town.

‘Taylor Swift is a force to be reckoned with,’ Julie Calvert, theCEO of tourism agency Visit Cincinnati said in a statement at the time. 

‘The economic impact Swift creates is staggering, as fans travel from far and wide to attend her concerts, filling hotels, restaurants, and local attractions. Swift’s influence on tourism is a testament to her ability to captivate audiences and drive economic growth.’

The same thing happened when the Midnights singer hit Chicago last month.

The city broke hotel occupancy records during the first weekend of June when the Eras tour took over Soldier Field.

More than 44,000 hotel rooms were booked for each night of  shows, bringing in and $39 million in total hotel revenue, Billboard reported.

The Eras tour plays Denver on Saturday night before heading to Seattle, Santa Clara and Los Angeles.
