Rachel Riley, 35, has shared an update with her fans as she prepares to take a break from Countdown. The star addressed who will be replacing her on the show as she bid farewell on her last day of filming.

Rachel is well-known as the presenter of the hit series Countdown, taking over from Carol Vorderman when she was just 22.

The star is currently pregnant with her second baby with husband Pasha Kovalev.

She shared the news earlier today that she’s gone on maternity leave from the daily show.

Sharing some snaps from her final filming day, she also unveiled her replacement.

Rachel wrote: “Well that’s it from me, I’ve officially finished filming to pop a baby out!

“You’re stuck with me on screen till December when the totally amazing @aimafidon will be keeping the numbers in line till I’m back next year!

“Hope you have loads of fun Anne-Marie, best of luck lovely!”

Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE is a mathematics genius who previously appeared on a “Black To Front” edition of the show.

Rachel also posted earlier this week about preparing for her break from the screen.

She penned: “Last day at work today before mat leave so here’s an artist’s impression of my throat right now. Not long left!”

Following her new update, Rachel was inundated with well wishes from her followers.

Fan Kieran O’Driscoll wrote: “Aw Rachel, you will be very much missed but @aimafidon will certainly be a worthy Keeper of the Numbers till your return next year.

“Best wishes to you, Pasha, Maven and the soon-to-arrive new addition to your family!”

User Ally-mai penned: “Ooh that’s exciting! I’m sure @aimafidon will do great!

“Hope everything goes well with baby! Good luck to you both!”

“Good luck! I can’t wait to see your little girl’s baby brother or sister!” added Eddie O’Donnell.

Rachel first met Pasha when the pair were partnered up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013.

Following the presenter’s split from her first husband Jamie Gilbert, Rachel and Pasha began dating.

The couple tied the knot in Las Vegas in June 2019.

At the end of the same year, the couple welcomed a baby girl called Maven Aria.

They have previously shared that Rachel’s second baby is due in October but haven’t announced her due date yet.

Pasha confirmed this to OK! back in April when he said: “We wanted baby number two.

“So, we’re looking forward to welcoming them into this world, sometime in October.”
