He’s back! Dexter star Michael C. Hall lends his voice to newly-released teaser for the upcoming revival
A teaser for the upcoming Dexter revival was posted to the series’ official Twitter account on Thursday.
In the video, an ax was seen embedded in the stump of a tree in front of a small fire, before the scene fades out to show the Showtime project’s official logo in the midst of falling snow.
The upcoming 10-episode revival of the wildly popular crime drama series was first confirmed in October of last year, with Michael C. Hall set to reprise his role as the titular character.

The 50-year-old performer provided an ominous voiceover for the video, where he was heard remarking: ‘There really is nothing like getting back to nature…my nature.’
Dexter was based on the 2004 novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, which was written by Jeff Lindsay.
The original series was centered around the actor’s character, who worked as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department and also evaded the authorities in his efforts as a serial killer with a twisted moral compass.
The show ran for a total of eight seasons and received a total of 24 Primetime Emmy Nominations, with Hall and John Lithgow winning Golden Globe Awards for their work on the show.

Although the first few seasons were showered with critical praise and heavy fan attention, many reviewers felt that the series’ quality declined in its later sets of episodes.
The upcoming revival will be spearheaded by the show’s original showrunner, Clyde Phillips.
The plot of the new set of episodes will still be centered around Dexter Morgan as he runs into trouble in the small upstate New York town of Iron Lake, ten years after he left Miami in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura.
In January, Deadline confirmed that Clancy Brown would join the show’s cast as its main villain, Kurt Caldwell.

Other performers who will appear in the forthcoming revival include Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah and Julie Jones.
Principal photography began in February, with much of the shooting taking place in Massachusetts and is expected to finish up in early July.
The upcoming revival of Dexter currently does not have a set release date, although it is tentatively set to premiere this coming fall.
